  1. I thought most of you only knew one badge?
  2. Exactly. So the only person who cares you are driving a Boxster instead of a 911 are males, and they probably drive something rather average anyways. I painted the wheels and headlights black on my wife's car and had I not pointed it out weeks later she would have never know, I think they just look at cars as a generally blurry shape and as long as everything is working they are happy..
  3. Thanks for that, the 125i is a stand out model to me and looks to be well priced. With a manual gearbox and a LSD it could be a performance bargain compared to a Golf GTI.
  4. That, and I know people who rate the Boxster/Cayman higher than the 911, these guys can afford and have owned lots of exotics too Plus if your intention is to pick up women they wont know the difference.. so its really a select group of males that will not be impressed by a Boxster.. So. If you don want to attract males and like driving by a Boxster.
  5. Close at 27k. Boxster S in Manual is the one you want. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-495138408.htm
  6. That's bullshit. You drive a Boxster because you like driving. Unfortunately you cant get a decent one for 25k and most are Tiptronic.. of and they can be expensive to maintain if you get a bad one. I would buy this and sped the rest or cigars. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-486957206.htm

    M5

40,000km a year and a track day here and there.. He is hard on his car, well as hard as any real driver would be, but that's why you buy a hardcore car is it not? Did I read that correctly above, someone is claiming they have got 160,000km out of one set of pads and disks?

    M5

Depends on how you look at the comparison I suppose, the E39 is a relatively simple car that is far more resilient when driven as it was designed, service and wearing items are far cheaper, tyres, disks etc and they are far easier to work on. The E60 is on another level performance wise and would eat an E39 but I would still take the E39, even if they were the same money, hell I would not pay 30k for an E60, we had a NZ new E60 545i FSH a few years back and even that being only a couple of years old had a fault list longer than this post and do you think ayone else other than BMW would tackle some of the more interesting codes? 20 Bimmersport dollars says the E39 and E60 will be equal $$$ in less than 10 years.

    M5

Depends. If you drive it like a nana and its all up to scratch and you only drive 5k a year you may be lucky. But why buy an M5 and drive it like a nana on Sundays?? I have a friend with one and he tells me its very expensive to own, it will drink a full tank of gas in one day if you drive it like he does, he tells me its up for new brake pads and disks every 6 months when it is serviced at around $3k, a new clutch every year if you use the launch control, he would not tell me the cost because his wife was at the table but im guessing say 5k if your lucky, new tyres every other week, say 4k? Service every 10,000km or six months, $800.00 at BMW for a regular service, $1,500-2k for an Inspection II with filters and all the jazz. That does not account for the fact that at around 70,000km every bush will need replacing, control arms, engine mounts. They are a supercar.

    M5

No such thing as a cheap E60 M5.. scares me thinking about service costs to keep one of these up-to-scratch! Gives me a mint E39 M5 any days please.
  11. That is nice. The colour is like French Racing Blue, Jaguar use it on the XKRS. I know the parts manager at my workshop has a special import Clio 197 Cup in that colour too, it really pop's. I like it. I like it alot.

    1989 325i e30

Looks good. On a side note, and nothing to probably worry about, but I got pulled over by a horrible Police officer last year and he actually fined me for having the tow hook sticking out the front, its apparently illegal and a hazard.. it certainly hurts when walked into.
  13. Was thinking Mk3 Cortina. Needs more blue HID lights and black grill IMHO.

    MY 320i E30

    So tuff. Love this car.
  15. Is it surprising that a car that cost four times the price of another new out performs it in every way.... the 304 in the VR/VS did sound nice though, better than the LS1 that replacedit IMHO. Also, the SS will do much better burnouts all day long.
  16. Welcome, great choice in car, enjoy!
  17. I see what you did there I know of quite a few good drives but I know it will be a bit to enthusiastic for most hence the idea of having a meet in town. I remember a couple of years back the Hamilton guys had some great drives, maybe a cruise to Hamilton to get some Wongs Kitchen Fried Chicken? Could start in the afternoon and I can think of a few nice roads to drive down on and then just take SH1 back up after filling up on Chicken and talking sh*t for a couple of hours?
  18. Also, I find doing burnouts with a car full of blonds whist cranking music really loud with the windows down effective in getting attention. Could be something to consider. Phantom speling corekshon.
  19. Hunua is horible, I don't recommend it Probably not the best place to go to be scene. Why not have a Friday or Saturday night meet up and cruise around Auckland CBD, get some macers, etc, that would get some attention.

    M3 vs rocks

Fail. He could have at-least started out in a sh*t car like most of us. Too much playstation.

    Project 30

Looking quality. I really like how E30's can go from looking sh*t to quite awesome with little details. Keep it up. Also. I hope that guy is standing on his own car!!

    COFFEE!

So you would know then! I used to buy what ever was on special found most brands were average and thought I am only saving $2 a week so why not just buy whats good? I swear Avalanche is the bestt off the shelf stuff, lurv it In saying that I have brought many a bag of special roasted "Hippie Stuff" as MD13 so eloquently puts it and it has been utter sh*t. Does not being able to drink instant coffee make you a coffee snob??
  23. Wow some amazing driving skill there, they should try and get into some sort of F1 school and be the worlds next best drivers I could do a big sh*t and fire it out of spud cannon and beet a GTR, it would still be a big pile of sh*t flying through the air. E30's are not about racing GTR's on the motorway, or have missed the point

    "My Family"

I’m not sure where you have done your community service you seem to know so much about but I have done community service a few times with the Papakura wardens and can tell you it’s nothing like that. I can tell you that working off 40 hours of community service every Saturday while you mates were out at the beach with your girlfriend or 120 hours every Saturday of a Summer when you should be home with your family or doing chores you have to do or even catching up on work that needs to be done as well as giving up an entire summers worth of events, hell I had to submit a application for leave so I could have a day off to get married and then could not take a honey moon. When you go into doing that you are giving up more than your time, you are giving up your freedom, you are controlled by another human being, this is a blow if you are an independant adult. It’s no fun and is a deterrent to me for sure when I think about doing something that could get me arrested and prosecuted! I have also been on the receiving end of paying a insurance company for damages as I did not have insurance and that's no joke either, you do get held accountable (if you admit guilt, this is where you always need to call the Police if someone hits you and is not insured and another reason compulsory insurance would save money and time) and you will spend a lot of time paying them off, there is no $1 a week option, even people on a benefit and up with paying a decent amount and that is decided by WINZ and the company chasing the money. If you stop you get referred to bay corp and end up paying them as well as receiving a bad credit rating that will mar them for a long time.. everyone is accountable and i you do the wrong things you end up paying for it in the long run, having people chasing you and not being able to credit is not a fun way to spend life, unfortunately its a normal life for a lot of people.

    COFFEE!

I was looking for that place online, Espresso Workshop, they have a branded stop on Manukau Road in Epsom and I ended up in there a few weeks ago by accident, was the best coffee I had had in a long time. Was pissing down with rain and is a relatively quiet spot but you you knew it was going to be good because of busy it was. Worth checking out, easy parking and good cakes too! Starbucks do a good Tall Hot Chocolate I recon, they have recently improved their Coffee but its still not worth the money, it is still a safer bet than a Chinese Bakery or Gas Station though. I think the problem is people are not demanding good coffee and we accept some very average crap, I am not a coffee snob but I do have taste buds and tight budget and I always send mine back and ask for a refund if its bad, at $4-5 a cup it needs to be good. Its interesting that NZ has become a Coffee culture and it is the biggest growing beverage type by a massive margin, it has grown from virtually nothing in ten years.
