Your car is awesome, your photography is awesome. Viewing this thread has made my whole life more awesome. Keep up the good work.

Please don't wreck it. Id saddens me the amount of decent E30's being pulled down and parted out.. is good for current owners though. If it were a F/L I would make an offer. GLWS!

Ah so that's where the extra 20% you pay for a BMW in NZ compared to Europe comes in, it covers the extra fuel filling. Good luck with the purchase.

Thats fantastic news for motorcorp.

That $40 would have been the profit the local business needed to pay staff and rent for that hour! Nice saving!

Now that's a cool wagon! Would be ace for towing things.

Have not driven one so don't know what they are like, from all accounts I have heard the Mazda/Ford utes are a nice drive, but not sure what that is based on.. I have followed one through some coromandel roads and its safe to say some "performance" cars would not get past one. Well done on the new ute, I sometimes dream that I would need one and think about what one I would buy, the Nissan with the 550nm engine would be nice.

Chicane in the back straight at Puke, I like that, might be able to keep up Still think they should open it unsealed and run a Rally Cross event! Would be badass, works in the UK.

Like. You might need a trackday to ease back into things!

Hi Carl, do you have a contact number?

A big Maori would look chur in in your BMW, like Manukau Shopping mall or Hunters Corner on a Thursday night! Set up an AP for 20/30th month, keep accountant happy, easy to manage etc.

Thanks for that. Was just making sure, seemed funny it had never been fitted with one and passed all these years! Weekend project.

Quick question. Does anyone know the rules on when a car needs a high stop fitted? My car is a 1990 and appears to have never had one fitted but just failed a WOF on it. Can anyone tell me weather its mandatory on vehicles first registered in 1990 or manufactured in 1990? Ie: my car was manufactured in 1989 but registered in 1990 so is it exempt? Seems funny it has never had one and always passed on it?

This. In saying that, you have to feel sorry for the Australians with the luxury car tax on top of a massive price, lucky we have so many imports in NZ to push used car pricing down though so as a second hand buyer you are doing well in our market.

No. One is a generic remap that was created in Europe on a 330ci likely 10 years ago on newer car possibly running a different grade of fuel, it will be compromised to make it more generic. The other is a custom map tuned in real time on your car on a dyno on NZ pump gas and is specific to your car. Compare a chain store off the shelf economical suit vs a custom tailored suit made to fit you.. you can see where the money has been spent.

Its not that much a downside and only a few people will even notice or use the tyres to that level, they review very well in all the tyre tests even beating the Continental and Bridgestone on occasions witch leads me to believe they must behave differently ob differently cars, my car relies heavily on the outside of the front tyres and that's where most of the wear occurs, these tyres just feel a bit numb and rubbery. I brought them based on wear rating and then price, at half the cost of the Continental and equal ratings in most tests its hard to ignore them.

Not to mention DOT rated semi slicks, they make a huge difference on their own!

Have the same tyres (235/35/19) fitted to my car, agree they are very good, they have fantastic wet and dry grip, they are cheap and have a brilliant 300 UTQG. Only thing I don't like is the lack of steering feel they give on my particular sports focused car, they have constructed them with a lighter carcass and softer side wall in an attempt to lose weight from the tyre and increase fuel economy, i'm guessing this would be less noticeable on a BMW, especially coming from crap tyres but it was very noticeable on mine coming from a Continental SC 5P. Good to hear you are enjoying your car and good to see you are fitting quality tyres.

Nice one. I was cruising through Kohimarama on Sunday and spotted a very straight looking black Vogue with a Roof Box, was boss.

This kind of starts to build on the Toyota BMW relationship that was mentioned on a co development with Toyota and BMW on a new Supra, now we know what BMW will be getting back from Toyota in return, a Corolla/Prius with a BMW badge. It makes sense for BMW to try and expand when they are up against the VW/Audi, a company who plans to be the worlds biggest car brand before 2020, you can see why Toyota would want to help BMW to prevent that! Lets hope they price it right down under so we can justify buying them, I know you lot pooh pooh the idea but I would totally buy one for the wife if it was priced well, would have to be around 50k though and have point of difference and greater features than a Ford Focus, Mazda 3, VW Golf or Renault Megane costing 15k less.

So wait for summer and then hand to dry on a clothes line??
-
Depends on wrecked it is. After a very good vacuum I use clothes washing powder in a bucket and a sponge and then leave the car parked in the sun with all doors open to dry it out.

Cool, photo's!

Yawn. Agree BMW should have started a sub brand years ago. Spotted a cute 116i today, had white detailing and was orange... but was RWD so must be good
