I am looking for a few RS cars and their owners to attend a launch of a new model at Hampton downs in a few weeks. Please contact me if you have a nice example you would like to display it and take a few laps of Hampton. Would be a Monday and/or Tuesday. Graham

I agree, people don't have to do 100kph, why bother when you can just sit back, disengage the brain and just coast along oblivious to whats going on around you, and when a blue car passes you on a long streight you can flash your lights at him because he woke you up and you had to pay attention to the road for 3 seconds. Funny the 100kph is a guideline and as long as i'm under it I am driving safe type people mostly see a STOP sign as a give way and view indicating is optional also. I swear the vast majority drive as if they have just had a massive joint, laid back paranoid, indecisive and slow to react, and when something happens they are like wooooohhhhhhh maaaaaannnnnnnn. I would love to know the actual stats for the weekend though, how bad are they compared to any other weekend and how many of them involve alcohol and happen at night??

I was expecting a 7 Series with a huge glass and bog body kit actually. Quite disappointed its a boat. Spotted a tyre cover on a Isuzu Monster Uterus this morning that read "my other car is a boat". Clearly he has trouble identifying what a car is and his boat has left him with no money to buy a decent car.

Would be surprised if anyone can go the legal speed limit on the main highways other than overtaking in the north island, you will get to 100kp after passing that 1992 Nissan Primera with a tail light out and no WOF/REG full of trash doing 80 go to set the cruise control and then have to slow down to 70 for some Germans in a Britz. Passing is the problem and that’s where they get the revenue. Would love to see them have a tolerance each way, 5 over or 5 under, anything outside gets a fine. f**k I just set my Tom Tom to back road and go hell for leather, cops don't hang out on the back roads as there is not enough volume of traffic to reach quota and bump up statistics... You could thoreticlly drive from Huntley to Taupo at 130+ KPH and not see one cop... you would see 20+ on SH1

Most kiwi's drive at 5 under anyway so should not be a problem.

Try NZ performance tuning regarding your remap, worth a phone call, they have done my cars and I am very impressed with the gains and more so the smooth torque curve, they actually managed to make the car smoother than OEM with 30 more KW and 50NM. http://www.nzperformancetuning.co.nz/

Reversed it into the front brick wall. Parking sensors and all. Must say it stood up to the wall, $300 cash job to fix. Also set the clock to non daylight saving time. Took me a while to figure that one out, had to refer to the owners manual.

True, but its should have a scary as f**k for the fist 20 mins you switch it to full M mode with "ill cup you're balls and massage you ego" system turned off. It will be fast and capable, hell the 135i is that, its how sharp and urgent they make it that i'm curious about.

The 5##i M with a wider wheel and a slight lowering looks better than an M5 IMHO, the M5 still looks awkwardly proportioned and has a horrid stance. The first gen X3 just plain sucked, it was not ugly nor pretty it was just poorly designed. The new one looks great. New model. Yes plz.

Have you driven it Greg? I hope the M1 is how I imagen it to be, I drove the 135i and was quite disappointed, it didn't have the urgency and sharpness I was expecting, was almost toned down and compromised, the M1 better be turned up to 11 and scary as f**k to drive.

Yea, would scare the sh*t out of an unsuspecting driver, in context it has been tested by the same magazine with a 0-100 time the same as a new Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, now thats really fast. Whats more impressive as that it returns an average consumption better than my gutless 10 year old E46 328i. So thats a SUV vehicle that can beat Mitsubishi Evo's at the traffic lights and return better consumption than a say a 5+ year old three series. BMW have come a long way very fast these last few year, people may pooh pooh the styling but underneath they are light years from the 90's. Not a fan of the first generation X3 myself.

The new X3 with the X-Drive 3.0 Turbo is awesome, 0-100 sub six seconds.

Will be soft and automatic. Its a Merc.

Hey this is probably sacrilege but I have always thought a Toyota Altezza 3S-GE would go well in a light BMW, it has more power than the six and is lighter.. downside would be flexibility in the rev range and that horrid Toyota sound.

If its stock and just needs a realignment most are good, its not rocket science, stock cars have next to no adjustment and a wheel aligner can’t do miracles with no adjustment on worn suspension. It would be easier to make a list of who is bad. I have only ever had one bad alignment that was the aligners fault.

Such an epic track, have only driven it on the Play Station and even then I get scared going over turn one.. Cheers for sharing.

Very nice. These cars are a relative bargain considering they were $300,000 new a few years ago.
