  1. Oh yea then Ray at hell BM is your man! He loves cash so take a wad and talk turkey.
  2. Yea im not sure, I love the physics of SHIFT, it’s maybe not a case of realism more a sense of actual speed and excitement, it sure is challenging, so much more so than that of any other game I have played other than F1 games. This is imposable on hard with AIDS off. http://formula1-game.com/ Need to get some PC games I think, sounds like they are really realistic.. or just get to more trackdays and race events in a real car!
  3. You just called GT5 a piece of crap then as more than half the game is exactly the same as GT4, most of cars are the same as GT4, dynamically and physically. I finished GT4 a couple of times, thought it was great.. in 2005.
  4. Do a perfect lap around the ring in NFS Shift in a Vet Z06 with no driving aids on and in PRO mode and you will know what I mean. I can drive the ring on GT5 with my eyes closed, on SHIFT you are on the edge of your seat! Problems with GT5 and elements that make SHIFT far superior. No sense of actual speed in GT5. In SHIFT your heart rate rises, you get hot and sweaty and are afraid to pause it because you know you can’t simply un-pause it and carry on, it’s so much faster than GT5, as you go faster vision blurs and when you clip something you feel it! AI is pathetic in GT5, they don’t race you they have either a faster or slower car. Simple as that. When you win a race in SHIFT, you feel like you have raced for it, it’s very challenging and you will only win half the time as its actually challenging, go off the track or crash and its over. Content sure GT5 has 10,000 cars but only 3 have interior detailing and advance dynamics. Sound. The sound effects in SHIFT are far superior, im running 7.1 channels and its sounds great, in GT5 you can only hear the fake blow off and all cars sound the same. Game structure. What is the actual goal of GT5? To see how many punishing hours you can play it with no real achievement? You know GT5 was created by a car fan and not a racing driver, or even a good driver at that. Im sorry GT5 is a beautiful game to look at but that’s about it. Im so disappointed and have had to eat my hat 10 times over as I was so sure GT5 would be the be all and end all.
  5. What was sh*t about the first Shift I am curious? From a "real life" fast driver and racers point of view it is the most realistic sense of simulated driving I have experienced in a game. I'm thinking most people didn't switch it to pro and turn all driving aids off, it transformed the game. Is GTR evolution a PC game? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GTR_Evolution Keen to have a go at that!
  6. Honestly. GT5 can keep all its out dated content and 10,000 JDM sh*t boxes, keep your X-Box and get this, it will be better on PS3 but not that much better. I feel so let down by GT5, it’s pathetic. Sad that I paid $1,200+ for my PS3 to get GT5 and then have to wait years and years for it to be no better than GT4. Biggest down fall of Shift was including NFS in the title.
  7. Will be trading GT5 on this. The Last Shift was a great game, much more fun than GT5 with a real sense of actual speed and realism.
  8. "Lite" batteries have to be the most cost effective saving after you have removed all the interior, Looking for a battery that is a compromise for mine, it has to last a week and not go flat every five minutes, a long rally has us sitting idle a lot before stages. Say a 10kg loss? http://www.odysseybattery.com/extremespecs.html Fooo just looked at getting a carbon bonnet custom made with no under panelling, 3kg total weight. Circa 5k! Will look off the shelf but saving vs $$$ is negligible.
  9. Why replace a worn part with a second hand worn part, doesn’t make sense, you could end up having to replace it again within a year and no wrecker will give you a warranty. Back at square one. Do it properly first time around. It can be rebuilt.. Stronger...Faster. If you are in South Auckland I can recommend this guy. He did some work for me and was very fair and honest. http://yellow.co.nz/companies/Steering-&am...40588_1550.html

    RAPIDO for sale

Free bump, this car is mint and has had the money spent. Turn key mint E30. Wish I had the coin for a toy! GLWS.
  11. Your best solution is just regular maintenance, I kept my new wheels looking new by giving them a good clean every week, Meguiars do a non Acid Wheel cleaner that is good as do they do a really good brush that makes light work of multi spokes always dry off with a quick wax or detailer and take them off and through clean them followed by a proper wax every month. They looked new two year later with everyday driving. Alas nothing prepared them for motorsports and the now look like crap due to stone chips.
  12. Haha I have that problem, I am 100kg. I have room to loose 55kg from our check in weight to stay in my current race class, part of my plan to shed that weight is to loose 10kg myself, boy its hard nearing 30 after doing 15 years of heavy weight lifting. I have cut the gym out and am running over an hour a day, I am running the Auckland Marathon before main Targa event. The rest will be an 5kg Race battery, a carbon bonnet and plastic windows in the back. Like Ice Cube I cant live with out my Radio. The Aircon is helpful when you are lined up weighting for a rally stage in the middle of summer or touring 100km between stages. Its funny the E30 has that much sound deadening but they they are still loud on the road IMO, my reasonably modern car had a very small amount of traditional tar sound deadening, most of it was foam.
  13. serious streeter. Is tis a car that is no fun, just drives around all serious and sh*t? Ha my rally car that actually races has a auto locking, stereo, cruise, air-con etc.. Would strip it if it was a track car but an extra 10kg is worth little on the road. The heaviest part of my interior was the seats followed by the carpet, I have left the carpet out but fitted seats that were one quarter OEM weight. E30 Carpet and foam is heavy, the sound deadening is not that heavy at all.
  14. Like you, I waxed mine. Wax only lasts a couple of weeks on a rim though and as soon as you use a detergent or wheel cleaner on the wheel the wax will come off.
  15. Thanks for sharing. Is that where the WRC went through last year? Some great roads west of Onewhero.
  16. I agree, the E36 325i represents a great track or even Clubsport toy for minimum outlay, that’s why turnkey motorsports use them and in capable hands they are bloody quick, at Targa Bambina a very experienced driver managed to get one quite a way up the field and commented that it was a very good car, nice and predictable with a lot of usable mid range, quite a flattering car to drive. You could set one up for a lot cheaper than the one in that video too if you used cheaper materials. As said, stack it and buy a new shell off TM for bugger all. http://www.turnkeymotorsport.co.nz/
  17. Noob. Thats a E39. Simple. No rice. Just rims and suspension.
  18. All I saw was an advertisement for Eurotuner..and yet I still don't know what they do. America, f**k yea.
  19. There are a few at circa 50,000km but they will obviously be a bit more pricy, you will get a Jap import with lower KMs for lower money but it won’t necessarily be a better car, the Japanese seem to be very relaxed on preventative maintenance and they do spend a lot of time sitting in traffic, it won’t come with a service history and on top of this elements of the entertainment system will not work in NZ. I would still buy a Jap E60 for the right price though, they are just things to keep in mind and maybe use to bargain a price, you can convert the NAV easy ($$$) enough. At 80,000km ours needed control arms , pads and disks and the sunroof had an issue, there was also an un diagnosed knock/click in the steering system BMW could not fix, I suspected it had something to do with the brilliant active steering system. Try and get an 05 if you can, it has a few subtle differences biggest being the much better IMHO i-drive version two with a wider screen and more intuitive controls, don’t be intimidated but the I-Drive, it will be a piece of piss to operate after a week or so and provides ours of entertainment while you wait in the car when the missus “pops into the mall to get somethingâ€.
  20. There are a sh*t load of 545i for sale, where are you looking?? TM has 50 odd. The 530i is still a good car, but for the similar money I would defiantly go the V8, the engine in the 545i is wicked, so flexible and smooth and when the taps were open boy did it sound good, I still dream about owning another, it did not drink a heck of a lot more than the 530i, we averaged 11.5 in ours.

    The year of 2011

Was going to say that. Easier to clean also
  22. Meatball is a better low cost option IMHO.
  23. Hey thanks for your help on this guys, quick update as the handle stopped working on the weekend so I thought I would fix it.. failure of something is a great motivator. CRC did not work nor did doing anything under than rubber floppy piece of rubber German engineering excellence. Prepare for useless how to. I actually have no idea what I did but it worked. There are three star drive bolts that hold the latch in place, slightly above off set there is a small plastic bung, if you pull this out you can get to a 4mm allen key that’s under there. Im not sure of the proper procedure but found loosening that and retightening it in different positions (it seems to pivot) until the handle works properly again has worked a treat, as in its actually as good as new now, such a big improvement and only took a few mins even with a hangover and ultimate stretching out of time to do the job as to avoid helping the wife with vacuuming inside the house. Tip: I pushed the latch into the closed position whilst adjusting it, when it clicked from the outside I knew I had it fixed. E46’s really are rubbish, the build quality is a joke, and our E46 is a mint example.
