Best Springs/Suspension Setup for e30?
Apex replied to E36ShoppingTrolley's topic in General Discussion
BMW series cars, V8 Super-cars and a lot of other race series cars use King Springs, they are not all bad. OP. Depends on what you want really. If its just lowering just throw some whatever brand springs in. -
Yea a mate traded that, was not as nice as the one above but gives a realistic wholesale value, A BMW dealer would offer $25k for one as a trade.
-
Hence why they are so hard to come by and substantially more valuable.
-
Hate to say it but I preferred the grey for some reason . Black on black emphasis its age and cheapens the feel in my humble opinion. Easier to keep clean though eh!
-
That they are. So hard to come by these days. That car is a great price and realistically what they are worth. Love it. Want it… don’t need it.
-
Maybe just look at the nice pictures then!

This mag is worth a read, even has one of our members cars as a feature first issue. Can be had at BP and other great magazine retailers. http://www.facebook.com/gforce.magazine I have no affiliation with this Magazine, its just worth a plug. That is all

Only one page on my Mac as it displays BS in a list view for some reason.
-
I don’t know, that joker Brook from Hamilton had quite a few pages of nothing a while back.
-
It sure can, here is one I prepared earlier. A dollop of whipped cream and some sliced Kiwi fruit and its good to serve. This post makes as much sense as this thread.

[comedy post] Nicely put. It was a cool car and well know on a small bunch of forums on the interweb. I was actually the original trendsetter before the interweb forums and had a mean as rat car in 96, only back then a car with no ride height (springs), front splitter on the ground and rolling rusty panels and missing trim was generally considered a POS and was constantly pink stickered. I loved it though and always thought it was a tough as nails hot rod. I also rocked a Trucker cap a summer before everyone else. Here is a picture of it before removing the front bump stops and letting the panels rust more. Note brand new E39 at the time.. Still waiting for my award for coolness to arrive in the post, hope it gets here before my hair thins and middle age kicks in.. [comedy post]

This car? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-367246113.htm Fastest car on the road in NZ? He should enter Targa, would win easy.
-
Thanks Tom, you know your stuff! Chris is a retailer, not a suspension guy. For off the shelf KW he is worth a shot. Are you looking at competition options for your cars? They are quite an uncompromising extreme kit from what I have been told. Was looking at the V3 as a easily adjustable and affordable option for track days and what not but the advantages would be negligibly in the type of competition I do. The competition stuff is hell overkill for what I am doing and would not give me an advantage on the road, I will be sticking with OEM for the foreseeable future, if it’s good enough for the fastest Targa cars its good enough for me

Honestly try Chris at Autoquip for KW gear Tom, he is doing some sharp deals on the stuff, he is the NZ agent and looks to be getting it for a better rate than direct retail. Im looking at the Veriant 3 kit for my car, its much cheaper for the Megane for some reason. That 4-door sounds lush.

Your dad is awesome because he didn't buy a 911. Have you had a drive yet Tom?
-
That’s because the only tech II part on that car is the front valance. And that car should have IS lip. Also. That stance and RS would make an Austin Allegro look awesome.
-
As far as I am concerned, it’s all or nothing Good luck.
-
Non coming to NZ through BMWNZ AFAIK. Would be awesome though.
-
Yep, the KW package can be had for around 5k locally through Autoquip and together with the semi slicks would have a regular M3 going quite well. After doing my car I would love to hook into a modern M3 for my next race car, would most likely start with a crashed car, ditch all the factory safety equipment and start from scratch, I know of a similar project going on now with a current shape M3 and they have lost over 200kg in interior parts alone.
-
Very cool cars but twice the price of a regular M3?? GT3-RS for me please. For half the coin you could build a proper race M3 with a second hand car, manual gearbox, KW suspension, proper roll cage, race seats etc.
