E30 import either an M3 / 327is / 325is / 318is or Mtech

I don't want to start the whole a When is an M Sport an M Sport debate again but from your comments I think you need to do a lot more research on these cars. The only thing which will tell you 100% is the factory build sheet using the VIN -
X5 M ? Best of both worlds?

Pics probably need to be resized to be posted, 800 x 600 pixels max size and that should care. They need to be included in the For Sale post, as per Forum rules thanks.

Made things lighter by wrapping them in carbon fibre look vinyl.

Can you please add prices to your items, thanks.

Ok, so work backwards from your $20kAllow $1,000 for compliance + rego Gives you $19k landed. Allow $4k for shipping, port costs, MAF, etc Import duties, at 15% is just under $2k Leaves you $13k NZD to buy the car with. Now the dollar is slipping that is not a huge amount, but still enough to get something interesting. Have a trawl on the internet and see what you can turn up.. NOTE: Disclaimer - costs are rough guides based on my experiences a few years ago and may vary in real life, but can give an idea. -
Wow... Just, wow...

#gotflap #MPower Looking good, you're ahead of me already! And how come yours doesn't over-hang the sides of the boot like mine?? I am thinking that we are going to need something up front as well, like a splitter, to balance it out, or it's going to have too much rear and not enough front front grip??

Hello and welcome to the forum. The internet is great for conflicting advice isn't it? I can understand how you are getting into a state over this. Pretty much any E30 can now be brought into NZ as they are all over 20 years old, so don't need to meet emissions and impact laws, and LHD can be brought in as well. My suggestion for where to start would be on your budget, and work backwards from there. The days of cheap E30 M3s are pretty much gone (but I still keep hoping to find one), although some other models can still be had for a reasonable price. -
316ti is not so much a sleeper, more just sleepy! The proper motor + 6 speed should pep her up a bit though!

WTB: e28 m20 manual gearbox (Getrag or ZF)
E30 325i Rag-Top replied to eliongater's topic in Want to buy
I have got a ZF 5-speed from behind the M20 out of my race car, with the shifter linkage and cross member. Out of an E30, so not sure if it will work in the E28, but will definately bolt up behind an M20. Let me know if it's any good to you. -
All right, calm down!! It's only $9 per quarter, not exactly a fortune. But when you are expecting a big increase it's great?

When you get your new rates bill, expecting a massive increase, and find out it's actually gone DOWN!!

E30 Racecar Engine Swap.. with a difference..
E30 325i Rag-Top replied to E30 325i Rag-Top's topic in Projects
Nope, that is the flap in the lowest position, so this would be the Pukekohe setting. Depending on where you drill your holes will determine how high the flap goes when it is in the raised, or Taupo setting. Don't think we will get quite this much though #gotflap -

Some serious things to be done before the next race season, but as expected I am too busy mucking about with silly stuff that won't make me go any faster, but that I think looks pretty cool... Spoiler alert!! -

WTB: M3 S50 3.0 bottom end parts or whole engine
E30 325i Rag-Top replied to Family Wagon's topic in Want to buy
Just seen the S50B32 with the Shricks on TradeMe and I think that is a different engine, and the one I was thinking of is not listed any more. I will ask around see if I can find out if it's still available. -

bugger, sorry to hear that. Mike Starnes did have some E36 M3 parts for sale in the Race Series - Technical section, not sure what he has left now. Arron Harris' old race engine was for sale on TradeMe (not by Arron though) a little while back, but was quite a few $$$s Or try Geoff, FIAT131R on here, he has a few engines tucked away in his shed in Wellytown. -
M20 Head gasket set, where do these bits go?
E30 325i Rag-Top replied to Valvebounce's topic in Maintenance
The silver rings are sealing washers not shims (I think), go under things like the temp sensors to stop them leaking. If you haven't stripped the head right down then they probably don't need to be replaced. Not important bits anyways... -
Yup there are cooling and massaging seats, if you really want to spend up large you can get a 1st Class Airline type seat in a 7 Series that turns into a fold flat bed type thing and does everything. The trouble with leather is that it does get cold in the winter and hot in the summer (especially parked in the sun with it coming in the window) so the heater just takes the chill off it, also comes in handy when your back is playing up and needs a bit of heat. The cooler stops you getting a sweaty back in the summer - even when you have the air con on full blast, you do still get a sweaty bit. I am a bit worried about how many people on BS know what it feels like to piss themselves though....
