What cars would Kiwi enthusiasts want?
E30 325i Rag-Top replied to Apex's topic in General Discussion
Very hard to call that one, the market for "enthusiast" vehicles in NZ is very limited. You could have a great car, but end up holding it for a long time waiting for the right buyer. I would suggest you buy yourself a nice "toy" to enjoy while you are over there and then bring that back, if you flick it for a few $$$s afterwards then that's a bonus. -
Nah, it's completely rooted. Now, all bugger off and let me get it cheap..! I won't part it, it's to be restored and put back on the road.

There's a few coming up on eBay.co.uk now as cars are being scrapped and wrecked, prices have dropped a long way now as there are fewer E30 'verts around, and most are now summer only cars. Shipping to NZ wouldn't be too bad, LCL through a freight forwarder..

Have you tried Geoff, FIATS 131R? He often has diffs and gear sets, etc and is in Wellytown.
-
Geoff is usually the man for these, Silver Fox sometimes has one or two. Was one on TradeMe recently, for $650 I think it was. Prices have gone up a bit recently if that's what your thinking about.

If they fail to realise the real value of their property, maybe. But only then if that difference is more than the commission. If the agents are telling you they would market at $xx that is the MOST you can expect to get. Selling privately got me much more than the highest agents selling point, plus the saved commission. Granted this was in a cooler market than Auckland currently. Auctions are heavily weighted in favour of the seller, and are pushed by the Agents as it is a guaranteed quick turn around for them. This does put off many sellers, and as such can limit your selling price. Personally I bought my first house to make money on it, and since then have bought houses that I WANT to live in.

Interesting that someone has fitted E46 MV2 alloys to your car... a style I have always liked but not sure they work on the E90. Have a look at some of the standard MSport wheels on an E90/1 there are some good 19" available, and gun metal is a good compromise between the black wheel / silver wheel choice.

It's the bloody Real Estate Agents I can't stand, what a waste of time they are. Couldn't put a price on our house, "what's the RV?" was the question they asked when I wanted them to tell me what they would sell it for... Pathetic excuse for marketing and advertising (all at our cost..) and a couple of Open Homes. For which they wanted to be paid between $18k - $22k (based off the RV as a selling price). And I thought Estate Agents in the UK were supposed to be crap, they certainly do a lot more for much lower fees, and do more of the actual transaction as well rather than just pocketing the cash and palming you off to a Solicitor to pay more fees. So I thought "f$%k that for a game of soldiers" and got some quality photos taken, put the house on TradeMe did a couple of Open Homes with the wife and sold it three weeks later for $20k more than the highest valuation from any of the Real Estate agents, total cost to me of less than $2k. Net gain in my wallet circa $38k for about eight hours work. And as for the Agents in Auckland when looking to buy.. HA!

The phenomenon I like to call "straight line drivers" as in, they can only drive in a straight line, the first sign of a curve and they have no idea how their car can go around it and proceed to be on / off the brake pedal all the way around, even though there is a F%$k-off big sign telling them what the "comfortable" speed around the corner is, and they were 15kms under that speed to start with. Then as you say they piss off at a million miles an hour at the first sign of an overtaking lane. This is where machine guns or rocket launchers should be allowed to be used...

Those ones for the Life Insurance, with the automated woman's voice?? I can't see how anyone has ever bought something off of them.. So awful and annoying.

Exactly, it's all about choices and priorities. You don't HAVE to live in AKL, you don't HAVE to have four beds, an en-suite, double garage, garden, in a nice area. But due to those wonderful rules of supply v demand in a free market if those are the things you choose to have, then be prepared to pay the price for them. If the population forecasts are correct, then things aren't going to change any time soon with more people moving into AKL..

It's certainly a "show" car, because with only the weedy 2.0ltr pulling that lot around it isn't a "go" car!
-
Hmm, not sure there is going to be a BMW engine in this version, maybe only in certain (Euro VI markets)? And I think the 4 ltr diesel mentioned is the 40d engine, which is still only a 3 ltr but is twin turbo, a bit confusing!

Scary for the independent repairers ......

You would be surprised how many people F@#k about with their cars after buying a lead and some software off eBay, manage to cock things up following the YouTube tutorial, and then try and claim it has developed a fault and want it fixed under warranty. -
This was part of the technology swapping deal announced a few years back, which also includes the 'sports car' Supra / Z4 development work as well. BMW supply diesel engine tech to Toyota in exchange for hydrogen-fuel cell tech from them, plus engineers collaborating on a number of projects. You can expect to see the diesels (and versions / parts of) coming through on other Toyota models as well.

Uh-oh, that doesn't sound too good....
-
need stretch and poke for stance!
-
Expect to see more of this now that the scumbags know the police have to end their pursuit in this situation as it's "too dangerous"...
-
Don't you mean the M4?
-
Any more details? I don't think I've seen that car before.
-
Can you please put prices against the parts you have listed in the original post? Thanks.

Hmm, not sure that makes it any easier, 320i becomes a 320t but so does the 325i and the 328i, three different models all with same number. On the X5 you then get the xDrive30t, the xDrive30tt and the xDrive30ttt...?? Could start selling "t" badges as well as "//M" badges on TardMe..
