could be a tied fuel pump , fuel return valve failing , fuel drains back then takes a while for teh fuel pressure to build back up?? what motronic set up is it . if its the early system could be the cold start injector leaking fuel into the manifold and flooding it or a faulty cold start injector timer switch (just unplug it)

old dirty trans fluid , thick when cold so doesn't get around the gearbox properly. blocked trans oil filter??

diff will need replacing , easy enough to swap it out for another ticking noise can also be worn camshaft , quite comon on the m40 engines. not too bad to do on these engines. best to get it checked by a bmw expert

wont he be needing a early getrag 260 wit the location for the crank sensors in the bell housing , for the early e30 1986-1987 325i motronic crank sensors?? like in the picture other wise will have to convert to the later motronic loom , ecu set etc

vacuum leaks , bad maf , vanos not working ,thermostat not working, bad O2 sensors , best to get it scanned first

e46 coupe will hold its value better too , and use less fuel , more fun to drive

i bleed the system , ny forcing fluid upwards with a sqizzy bottle full of brake fluid with a rubber hose. one big push and all the air is forced out the top ,which is the the way air wants to go. otherwise sometimes you can spend ages trying to pump out the air downwards when it wants to go upwards. watch from about 5min
