yes , where are you located ?? driveshaft specialists in east tamaki. i have a spare 540ia driveshaft if needed
-
fit the rubber seal in first then it should slide in ok
-
all vw and audi have pretty bad gearboxes auto and manuals. e36 328i would be a better bet . or make a 328Ti if you want a smaller car
-
if you put in a early m50 engine from a 93 320i i probably wont have ews , so you need to bypass the ews box starter wires. you will see a heavy gauge wire going into the ews box (behind the glovebox) and one heavy gauge wire coming out of it. normally black/green and green etc , joins these 2 together and it should crank over
-
in the past i have found the m52 leak from the gasket between the oil filter housing and the block also the little o-rings in the side of the housing . the rubber gaskets and o-rings go hard
-
slow sell with those k's but if you want to fix it for yourself , not too bad. have good engines if needed
-
possible water down the spark plug holes
-
try this http://www.rubmw.ru/vincode/eng/

sounds like a m20 gearbox , if the flywheel is from the same car then you will need a m20 starter motor to match the ring gear teeth. easy enough to bypass the starter switch at the auto gearbox selector plug. have seen a few of those getrag 220 with movement in teh input shaft , but they seam to be ok.

U-jays can seize up , but that would be noticable at certain speeds etc. gearlever shifter rod isn't upside down is it?? , rubbing on the coupling??
-
pfl and painted black
-
use all the face lift sensors , electrics , front damper hub etc etc , only use the old block , and manifolds should be ok
-
just use the bare engine block and manifolds. use all your original electrics that are in the car etc. i think the early engine may have higher compression pistons?? what happened to the m50b25 conversion??
-
well done , hope you like it . what was the drive down like.
-
yea good choice for bang for buck , i got another 16-18rwkw and about 40Nm more with the millar maf on my M5 m88 engine . sounds nice too.
-
yup , i have getrag from a 93 325i in my 96 328i with super charger . no problems done 20,000km so far. gearboxes look the same as a 316i 318i 318is 318ti. but i dont know if i would push it with 300-350-400hp etc??

happy birthday , young fellow
-
just a lighter solid flywheel . my car does it and others that i have used a light flywheel in . not the dual mass type. its just the gears chattering on the lay shaft when no load is on them
-
quite comon , alwso will depend on how low your car idles at what does it idle at?? was teh a/c on , headlights on etc?? if it has a lighter flywheel that will also cause it to rattle a little.
-
looking a light blue bumper or just the bumper cover etc. alaska blue metalic . face lift or early type , anyone got one laying about?? like this
-
yes have doors etc. also have a mate with dogleg box in a e28 528i with a 3.5l engine he might swap it out for a std overdrive box , if you offer him enough
-
yes that will happen as the auto gearbox weigh heaps more than the manual gearboxes. all the cars i have converted e36 e34 etc all have lifted up at the front when you order springs from bmw , they have a options list of things to be ticked if you r car has a/c , sunroof , coupe or sedan , towbar , auto , manual , mtec kit etc etc then it works out the spring rates
-
have some but not a full set
-
check for camshaft wear , very comon on m30 engines , oil spray rail bolts come loose , and lack of oiling to the camshaft. normally front lobes are the worse. if there is a grove in the lobes then you will need a new camshaft. also when doing the valve asjustment , do it when engine is stone cold. and should be tight fit with the feeler gauges but not dragging too much

i had one the other day where i had to replace the wire , but most are just broken
