Just noticed your thread before. Sounds like a bundle of fun.

Pretty sure you're talking about an m50b25 unless its an american import... Really quite simple just time consuming and potentially expensive if you dont know what you're doing (ie f**k the cam timing and smash all your intake valves). I've replaced the entire vanos unit on some fellas m50b20, was 600 all up including parts. If i were you i'd import the correct seals for your m50/s50, give them and your car to us and have your vanos unit re-ringed while the leak is fixed. Come visit Wittz Auto, 78 Rawhiti Road, One Tree Hill, if you want to know more.

Go show your face with a cv to anyone and everyone, if you're lucky you might get the odd day or two a week.

So my plastic fitting has cracked again, completely severed this time, and sent her shooting into the red zone. The last time this happened was under 20000kms ago. This is the sucker: Does anyone know where i can source an aluminium fitting. Not wanting to overheat my car repeatedly. edit: i should state this is for the m43 engine, top radiator hose.

Thanks for all the info guys, seems we may be going with the facelift v8 which has a full service history with TM. Have noted the comments about overheating the transmission, can anyone provide any more info on an aftermarket cooler. It will only be used to tow short distances about 10-15 times a year but will be good to have some peace of mind.

My old man is looking at getting an X5 as he wants a comfortable daily with the ability to tow. Can someone enlighten me as to what to look for/avoid? Atm its looking to be either a 3.0L diesel (96kms) or the v8 (86kms) both NZ new sportpac 2004's. I remember a thread by "The Deisel Guy" on his X5 but I cant seem to find it. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers!

URGENT! E39 Tyre Pressure PSI Reccomendations
Andre3000 replied to Filth's topic in General Discussion
32 if cold, 34 if warm. The maximum psi on the side of the tyre is its safe stress limit not the recommended psi... -
Good to see another e36 touring! Looks the part with the kit and stance.

I have a lower lip from the rear bumper of a motorsport e36 for sale. Trademe link: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.as...989&ed=true

Yeah that was my understanding too, seems a funny regulation if you ask me, but fair enough, otherwise every man and their dog would be installing hair dryers.

All sold except for the lower lip of the rear bumper which is for sale for $80.

What is your understanding of the regulations regarding m30 turbos in the open class? I only ask as im goin to enter my e30 chassis in it once ive ironed the bumps out of her.

If you get a usb to serial adapter and manually download & install the prolific driver (dont install the driver automatically). Also after install check the mapcal is connected to same port as the driver and at least com port 10 or lower. Its quite simple if you do some fishing in the mapcal options and in the driver for the adapter options. I did all this and it works 100% every time.

Many happy returns Tony. Do a skid!

You can extrapolate the values between two boxes in the opposite corners of a selected part of the fuel graph. Look at the manual for more information on this, or PM crunchy he knows all when it comes to most things including mapecu. You can download the manual from: http://www.mapecu.co.nz/ in the support -> map-cal sub catagory

Pretty sure they are, maybe I'm losing my mind, which is quite possible... I'll take a picture of em, may jog your memory?

You dont need those tools to do it properly just make sure the cams are square/flush with the head before you remove the vanos sprocket and after it is replaced. This is a very simple task, just a little time consuming if you dont have the right tools on hand. If you'd like a quote call us at Wittz Automotive; 6366333, you can order the seals and book it in once you have the parts. Mike will be able to give you an accurate quote as we/I've done a few of these now.
