  1. i saw the listing at 7 views and i contemplated whether to click buy now then let a member here pick it up for 1500 but i went away for a few minutes and it sold on the 22nd view. It was a couple days ago charlie. You gotta keep up with it!
  2. https://trademe.co.nz/1332450438 Bargain of the year sold within minutes. If i was in the south island i would have clicked buy now..
  3. easiest $50 ever made award goes to....
  4. ^ are you a salesman? You're hired!
  5. Thanks for the free plug charlie The ACS kit is very nice and quite rare but imagine if you had an accident like being rear ended, you would struggle to find replacements for it! Also a bit worrying that it has no mention of any service work done, only talks about the aesthetic things. Also its the older M52b28 engine which is not as enjoyable as the newer M54. I would hold out for a nicer M54b30 530i or a M54b25 525i (facelift) rather than pay a premium for the kit and wheels. I could always drive my car down to you in CHCH and fly back up to Auckland. That would be an awesome drive, wouldn't mind doing it one day and meet up with any south island members!
  6. if you are up for a bit of DIY it costs about $100 for some nice black fabric, $20 on glue and a day in the garage to do the re-upholstering yourself. the hardest part is actually removing the headlining panel and getting it out of the car. once its out u just rip the fabric off, clean the panel, the apply glue to fabric and just press it on. cut around the edges and youre done. Pretty simple and a DIY job doesnt look any worse than a professional job. costs about 1/3 + your time.
  7. a very nice E90 323i msport 130ks just sold today for about 6k. had a couple of small body dings and worn tyres but otherwise it was a great buy. especially at that price sold in a day. also not long ago there was a 2005 330ci E46 station wagon nz new listed for 5999 and sold pretty quick.
  8. Style 138 E60 rims yes, but not necessarily a 530i.
  9. same engine as the e82 135i?
  10. Make sure to budget around $1-2k on cooling system overhaul on 95% of the cars on the market because it probably wont have been done. Especially cars around 100-160k kms it will be due very soon. The M54b30 3L engines are definitely nicer than the older M52b25 or even the M54b25. Try to find a nz new rather than imported if possible. Dont worry about kms especiallg if you dont plan to sell soon. Go for a well sorted one with service history with good factory options like suspension and your colour preference. Other little things you can always change like wheels or interior trim etc.
  11. I think I need to make a video like this..
  12. Bit of a hard sell as people only want to buy the cheapest but fail to realise that there are always going to be some major costs to get it up to scratch! Heaps spent on getting this car up to top condition mechanically and cosmetically and its worth every cent in my opinion to the right buyer. Although I do need to sell im not that fussed if it doesnt haha.. still an awesome car and both me and my dad love driving it from time to time so it can just stay there as a spare car
  13. using dads tm account (he pays the fees )
  14. If anyone asks, instead of saying you replaced the front end, just say you took a sedan and chopped the end off cuz you prefer the look of hatchbacks. That will raise some eyebrows for sure.
  15. woops you are right. was a typo.
  16. seeing as the plate "blues" has been on the car since 2013 i would assume its the same seller as back then.
  17. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1315190815.htm under 100ks also nz new and arguably better colour. both cars are too expensive in my opinion though
  18. http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/bmw/68 the wheels are 7.5" front and 8.5" rear. They are supposed to be staggered and you should run it this way. The reason you see non staggered sets is usually because people buy two sets and steal the two pairs of 8.5's and on-sell the 7.5 fronts. All of them have the little m sticker below the centre cap. the size difference is fairly easy to spot if you put them side by side there is a clear difference. Most noticeable give-away is different tyre sizes but dont trust this because you could technically put the same size tyre on a staggered set which might *hide* the obvious stagger. normal tyre size for these wheels are: 225 45 17 front and 255 40 17 rear also beware of fake wheels but I havent seen any fake style 68s yet..

    TradeMe woes...

^ really? is this an assumption or do you recently get a job from trademe? cuz last time I checked tm really dont give a sh*t about anything except collecting their success fees and banning accounts that are owing money.
  20. bit of a stupid argument but *IF* the car was priced lower say 10-12k rather than what it currently is (around the 20-30k mark) then every joe blow on the block will have one sacked to the ground sitting on 20" rims and feeling damn cool and us purists wont like it anymore no matter how good the driving experience is/can be. so in a way we can be thankful that it has held the price/value well over time and thus prevents every other person from tarnishing the 'image' of a classic e31. 2c
  21. go get a quote from the dealership for a new part. it might be fairly reasonable if you compare to overseas + shipping and tax. Alternatively, you may be able to find someone who has/is doing a 1M conversion and maybe you can buy their old bumper.

    TradeMe woes...

I can tell you that trademe wont be much help, they have generic replies like "talk to the seller" etc but they dont have any means to enforce a seller's decision nor do they care. my suggestion is try and strike a deal with the seller (maybe offer more than the bidding price to match or better the other buyer) but otherwise there isnt a whole lot you can do.
  23. Anyone have a spare lying around? HID bulb to fit E39 2003.. If its exactly the same i guess just need one or maybe a compatible pair? Let me know
