  1. had a look on trademe and found the AC 540i. priced just under 7k. i think its way too overpriced given the kms. there are people on here who have managed to score 1997 540i's for as cheap as 3k with minimal work that needed doing. i would either spend 7-10k on a nice 2001-2003 540i with full msport and lower kms than buy that AC one. in saying that, the AC one is very well advertised with great pics and a decent description which makes the car seem better than it (probably) actually is.
  2. e36 oem sport no airbag steering wheel. probably worth $50 max?
  3. WOW, that focus RS is absolutely amazing! same for the clio.. im really feeling the new renaults these days. if you ever feel like giving me a ride in the new megane i offer free coffee and sushi!
  4. graham have you driven the new megane RS? i absolutely love it but have yet to test one out myself. yours looks very nice too btw
  5. ah ha! i just read the auction and it says "320i gone now" so im safely assuming that the listing was originally for a 320i with 2.2L and now the auction details have been changed to the 318i as per the photos. as martin pointed out its def a 4 cyl engine in there so it must be a normal 318i.. in which case im not that overly keen.. sigh was looking forward to a nice 2.2L 6cyl wagon. oh well..
  6. Ive seen this way back, must be at least a couple of years now.. but i am 100% sure its still in the exact same awesomely mint condition as when i last saw it. beautiful example and a great price! glws andrew!

  9. some more pics? and it says 320i in the title and 318i in the description. is it the 320 with 2.2L engine?
  10. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-847704971.htm looks tidy and well priced. could be keen in a week or so... might flick him a txt

  14. dont mean to thread jack or anything but like you dave, i met SJ at my cafe's meet last month and im so glad he was there. i asked for some help with my car to get scanned etc and sj offered and drove all the way to my place in mt wellington and spent a good hour scanning the s#!+ out of my car. for free! (i owe u one for sure) he was awesome, knew what he was talking about and walked me through the whole process. although his shop is in the north shore, i will gladly make the drive over to get anything done by him/apex automotive and will be recommending him to all my friends. and back on topic, looks like your car has made great progress dave! must take me for a ride one day

Awesome! I seriously need to see this in real life.
  16. somtimes trade ins are worth it because its a good way to take a couple of grand off the new car's asking price. so essentially you are getting a bit less for your car as trade in but the new car for less as well. just a matter of finding the right dealer who has an e60 and is willing to take your car. but in all honesty, i would buy private over a dealer. especially because most dealer's bmws will be jap imports and everyone here knows NZ new is just better. good luck man!
  17. wow the new tool kit made a huge difference!!
  18. now all thats left is wheel refurb!!!!
  19. for bottle caps you're really just paying for the tyres. so around $200-300? for 14" weaves maybe $400-500 for 15" weaves maybe a bit more like 700
  20. ask tom? http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/51009-e46-m3-18-inch-wheels-and-tyres-standard-sizing/ edit: oh nvm his are 18s and you wanted 19s..
  21. protection against being rear-ended
  22. The problem i see is that your atenza turbo and a e60 5er have totally different target markets. So any dealership that sells euros and have the e60 probably wont be that keen to take a turbo japanese car. Not saying theres anything wrong with your car, ive seen it and its cool but just will be a bit hard to find a dealer that does both.
