haha way too cool. must be heaps of fun + practical now being a hatchback.
-
yep, thats a good guide. I replaced the black clogged hose with some clear thick tubing from bunnings.
-
Sunroof drain hose blockage most probably.. pain in the ass.. hours of work.

316Ti with the N42b18 engine (85kW, 1.8L) you should put it up on fb or trademe, should sell quick enough
-
^ mind sharing the reserve price?

He must mean it gets the lefties. Cuz i dont imagine any any ladies would be getting in one of these -
I have a friend looking at a 2012 X1 20d, N47b20 engine. Quick google shows timing chain failure.. eek! Is it really that bad or an internet myth? Any common/potential issues with this model? Ideally would like the facelift 2L petrol with the N20 engine but they seem to be very rare..

beautiful classic. 2001 model and with the right engine.

Did anyone else notice the read seat arrangement though?

Valvetronic thing, if it is just the sensor then shouldnt be an issue, but if its a problematic eccentric shaft it could be a bit more expensive. If its gets sorted, for 10k I would definitely consider it, looks well maintained and buying from a forum member is a plus. not expected, but if it didnt sell at 9000, and the seller is motivated to sell then you could try to justify a slightly lower price as a compromise between asking price and what you are willing to pay. Sometimes all it takes is an offer to "cover" their flight costs or a full tank of gas to tip a potential buyer over the edge in their decision making in whether to buy or not. its just a gesture that you are motivated to sell more so than $ value.

cant see the facebook link one This one looks good if you dont mind an auto one https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/130i/listing/2939987308 but if you're set on a manual then that one in auckland is probably the best "deal" at 8750. I'd even try get it a bit closer to 8000 since it didnt sell for 9k, and you have to travel for it.

true, but I thought the 2013 was attached to the 328i and the 523i is some other year (not mentioned). had a quick look on tm and didnt find any 2013 523i with 50,000kms so assumed it was the N52 2.5L. there is only this one with 57,150kms which might be the one the person is referring to but not sure https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/523i/listing/2908260553

the triangle is due to low fuel, the 012 is the trip meter in kms. if possible the LCI is a bit nicer than pre LCI (aka facelift) but cant really go too wrong with these cars
-
the 523i would be the N52 motor. quite different to the N20 in the 328i.
-
they go very hard. its the spiritual successor IMO to the 330ci in terms of how it drives/handles.
-
jump over to the dark side of 130i
-
Wheel speed sensor? tyre pressure warning you should be able to turn it off or run the recalibration through iDrive to tell the computer that the pressure is set correctly.
-
After a quick rinse
-
paint wheels black and turn the other way
-
different gear knob shape and different center dashboard shape also.
