That gasket is still not seated properly in the front above that sensor, it should be flush and not sticking out. There is still about 600% too much sealant slathered everywhere too. The gasket can be very fiddly, but any competent person with eyes and fingers could fit it without issue. Im not sure what other engine work you had done, but in neither of the S50s ive done the vanos on have I had to touch the fuel rail. I wouldn't be using them again. I have also just noticed, in the original post, 3rd photo down, it looks like one of your vacuum caps on the throttle body balance ports is broken off?

Seeing some of the stuff presented to certifiers that gets fixed, its obvious that there are a lot of cars on the road that otherwise would've been deathtraps. Sure, there will be a few out there that arent following the rules, but between road policing and the WOF system, it picks up a lot of the stragglers.

IIRC its a resonator. Cats are #2 and #3 in the diagrams and usually have O2 sensors on either side of them. E: oh, you didnt mean the highlighted #1.

Isnt this one of the typical first signs of the HPFP failing? Might want to have the fuel pressure logged and see that its not dropping.

Only a few years ago before they were 25 year old R32 GTRs, FDs and Supras were regularly trading for mid teens for the desirable models. At the same time R34 GTRs were only about 50-60k too. I remember this because I was sitting there with the cash thinking "Thats a lot of money for them, ill wait till they drop in price a bit more" and then bam, overnight they shot up and now im kicking myself that I'll never be able to afford one.

The only reason the JDM "halo" cars are expensive now is because of the bloody States and their 25 year rule. They'd still be worth nothing if there wasnt demand for JDMasFK RHD cars in the US. Not really a good thing to base your comparison on tbh.

Colorado shared a platform with the D-Max (i think the current one still did), so no big loss. One less ute in the marketplace is good in my eyes.

Its not the end of GM in NZ, its the end of Holden. I'll almost bet HSV spins off as its own brand and is what brings the Camaro and Corvette to NZ, run by GM directly. No big loss, Holden has been peddling imported rubbish for years, its more a shame they didnt wrap it up when the Aus Commodore died.
