Newly purchased 135i running badly - beginning of a saga?
KwS replied to SteveArmy90's topic in Maintenance
Costs fall squarely onto the dealer then imo. A bit sh*t the warranty wont cover it, but those bastards will weasel out of anything they can. -
IMO (non M3) E36 are so plentiful these days, and worth almost nothing, that i wouldnt even bother having a second look at one that had rust. Hell, i wouldnt even look twice at one with bad paint these days, and just move onto the next one. I guess it depends on what you want the car for too. If its a race car, and dirt cheap, might still be good.

This will work, but be damn sure the bit is snug in the hex or you risk stripping it out.

Oh wow, i stand corrected. Fair enough then, i'd be pissed off too if they hadnt come to the party. Thats pretty poor. Compared to any NZ courier, Fedex is amazing. They got a steering rack from the UK, to me, in 5 days, over Christmas. I laughed when it said the ETA was 27th Dec, but ill be damned if it wasn't in my hands on the 27th, and that includes having to clear customs and pay GST. I find with DHL and Fedex they pre-pay GST and customs fees on your behalf, get it straight through customs, and then once you pay them its on your doorstep in a day or two.

I could see that in the side window profile

Wow, there is something really weird with that front guard gap and paint shade. If you wanted the weird 3 door, i think it'd be the one to get as they sure as anything arent common.
-
Yeah but changing address should be a pretty uncommon thing to happen, and at that, I bet you didn't actually lose that $200 because wouldn't youshop be liable for the costs to either recover the item or replace it since it was their fault? Doesn't sound like something that should be a worry 98% of the time.

Out of curiosity, how do you know/why should it have cloth seats instead of the leather?
-
He wants something that handles better, so i'd say the E55 is out as they are a bit like an old muscle car. Great in a straight line, but just arent fun in the corners. Plus, once again itll make the E39 look like a corolla for reliability.

Sounds like an excuse

Sounds like you need to go a bit easier on the throttle.... A real man uses his right foot as traction control.
-
Also used Youshop plenty, for both UK and US items. Never had an issue. +1 to threads like this being useless in general, everyone has an opinion of bad experience, with anything. I could say "WARNING WARNING WARNING DONT USE Z PETROL BECAUSE THE ATTENDANT POURED IT ON MY WIFE BY ACCIDENT ONE TIME" (true story)

Ok, I want to believe, but for the love of whatever, please just put up the links being requested. Stop being so secret squirrel about it all. What's worse, you linking to what you actually want us to know, or for us to go googling and make our own conclusions from whatever random stuff we find?

But did he actually? Im also not completely sure what im looking at in this thread... and whats with this "thats my old blog" crap and refusing to link to your current site? If you want to name drop "Bosch", actually spell it right or your credibility is shot, or do you actually mean "Bosh"? If it's Bosch, they make an awful lot of products, and not all of them big or good, so you might want to be a bit more specific.

Jebus you will argue about anything, won't you Dave? You're getting as bad as Ron these days. You need to chill out a bit eh, can't be good for your blood pressure. That blue one has the rare ///M fabric interior. MUCH better than full leather IMO The yellow one has been through heaps of owners in the past year or two, including iirc Brent. Last i saw it was forsale down here for about 20k before it was stacked. The wheels on the grey one do it no favours, they look so weak on it, and the lowering on the silver one makes it look a bit dumb. The blue one would be my jam.

Im not a huge fan of the E60, too "gadgety" and overweight for me, but damn that's probably one of the best looking i have seen. Good luck, cant imagine it will hang around long.
-
Its quite frankly a bit crazy they didnt, considering the power output, and the target market of "performance". Even an MSport 130i shouldve had an LSD standard.
-
Still 10k more than the car in the OP.... Oh, and its an poxy auto, and doesnt have an LSD or suspension mods of the OP... wait, why is this even a comparison?
-
Yeah but you dont get a hell of a lot of 135/335 for 15k compared to the car in the OP.
-
I still stand by what i said in the past, thats a crazy amount of car and engine for the money. 15k for a V10? Crazy.
-
Ill get one, one of these days. Not a fan of the black but it ticks all the other boxes. Bloody good price considering the upgrades done.
-
They'd sell that easier if they removed all stickers and just left it a nice wagon
-
Might i suggest if you are seriously interested, just contact Tom directly. There doesnt need to be a thread for that.

Hope it goes to another caring owner. It was a great car, and a real shame i couldnt buy it back. Already have three cars ? GL Mark. Despite the KM its a solid, reliable example. Made really good power on a dyno run when I had it. Has a MASSIVE folder of previous receipts.
