  1. Yeah - idle not a good place for an engine to sit. I always change gear at 2500rpm until the car warms up - better than just leaving it at idle till its warm from what I've always been told.
  2. Dude - have you ever driven through Kawakawa????? Same sh*t.
  3. Love the "would suit someone with $20,000" lol
  4. AFAIK, a coupe was a 2-door car. Then they started making 4-doors with invisible b-pillars that looked like coupes - hence the name 4-door coupe. It's just a marketing thing. Sportscar oriented people want to buy coupes or cars that look like coupes. Its not about BMW naming it correctly or not - its about marketing.
  5. Hey Ollie - I say we weld up the diff and make it a 327 eater - eater.

    Ryan's 325i

Time to lose the bottles ryan! (aka BMW TR lightweight alloy wheels) And drop it a wee bit. I've got some king lows (not supa lows) somewhere in the garage. $200 incl installation when you come up for your service. make all the difference bro. Great to see the car doing its duty without even breaking a sweat - good stuff.
  7. Now thats a fukn tuff e30 interior!
  8. I'm not sure - should just make a 6-series 4 door IMO. It doesn't even remotely appear to bear any design chain to the original - FTL I say.
  9. Also, on my e30, there's a grounding point by the aerial in the boot.
  10. I paid to have an m20 cambelt done once - also did tensioner, waterpump and a few other bits and pieces. $600 - sounds about right what you paid. Sure for $200 in parts and your time you could do it yourself, but you have to know how. $700 doesn't sound too bad for that work.
  11. My Bids: Wheels $1000 (subject to photos of curbage) LSD $750 (subject to whether the groan is gone or not) headers $500 Nathan, can you get back to me on the curbage/lsd groan as if unsatisfactory be best if I let everyone else have a crack at them.
  12. Edit re below - oh didn't realise this was such an old thread.

    E30 318is

    Don't forget that's 18k fitted.
  14. Is the whine there when you are not moving?
  15. It doesn't specifically cover 320, but the 320 is more or less identical to the 325 in most ways, so is the manual of choice for all e30's. (except 318is and m3 - also not sure if it covers the m40 motor?)

    leak.

It is most commonly a blocked drain outlet as described by Silver Fox. What happens is the drain doesn't work so the vent area fills up to the point where it spills into the passenger compartment through the heating vents. When you are parked on the flat with a hose on the vents by the wipers, water should be pouring out the drain hole in the firewall near where the battery sits. If not this is you're likely problem.

Sorry I can't answer your question, but welcome!!! Another Northland member. Whereabouts in the bay are you?
  18. Chris (ED1RTY) has old black plates, but he's just recently bought black german plates instead. My old car had a euro style plate, just not a german one if you recall?

Welcome!! You sound like a bit of a hard case, which means you'll fit in here well. What year is the 520?
  20. Dayum - I should have done that and added $500 to the asking price. Good sh*t ryan - what product is it?
  21. German Plate Arrived
  22. Thanks Cain - that's what I was after. I guessed as much. Gus - at $900 new I'd rather use my eyes. Could probably land one from the US for $600-650 but fcuk sending it back to the states for a warranty claim.
