I bought my Bentley from Amazon shipped to NZ.

See that's the problem - you have your priorities wrong. You bought a House with a small garage!! Why? Why? What you need to buy is a garage, then if you need to build a small house at the back of it. I should take a picture of my garage one of these days... Not that it matters, you're going for the right car now anyway.

Nice car - if I could afford to mod one It'd be my BMW of choice.
-
What's so funny? Welcome dude.
-
Except at least the euro plates conform in terms of materials, embossed lettering, letter height, reflective white background etc.
-
Next tim eyou pull it apart, take a photo and post it up - I'm intrigued.

You're a strange creature Sam.

What happens when a Aston Martin v8 Vantage, a Jaguar C-XF and a new BMW 8 series have a crash??? Oh, this is it. Its cool, but the little styling details are ugly and let it down.

Interesting - do a search on the companies register for personilised plates limited - 50/50 shareholding by some couple in Beachlands?

I'm no lawyer, but the legislation is not clear. I'd fight it if you have the time and $ to do so.
-
The law does say that the but it still doesn't preclude you from displaying your own plates that conform to the requirements.
-
Found this: would need to be tested in court as to what is a plate not authorised - as authorised plates, as far as I have so far discovered, are not prescribed as being made by any particluar entity, it is just regulated as to the form the plates must take (aluminium, white background, blah blah).
-
Cain - it has never been tested in law - Personalised plates say it is illegal hence why it is often said on this site, but there is no law that says you have to display a plate made by them. There are a couple of laws - 1 is the Transport (Vehicle Registration and Licensing) Notice 1995 which says: and : There is an amendment in 1999 which does not affect the above except allows for the newer 3 letter 3 number plates and another in 2006 which does a similar amendment for motorcycles, mopeds and trailers. Also read the Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986 It does not specify who must supply the plates although it does say the registrar may force you to surrender any plates not afficed to a vehicle (hence you old ones after you buy German Plates. All law pertaining to what is allowed regarding registration plates is published by the Minister for Transport in the NZ Gaztte - this is prescribed in statute (below)- show me where it forces personalised plates only to supply plates and I'll eat my words.

Ask them to show you the legislation that proves you have to have LTSA plates - AFAIK it has never actually been proven by LTS, they just took the liberty of stating that is the case and it has never been proven in court.

Over time you'll find good service agents who treat you like a customer and do their work and charge accordingly - it takes a while to find them but you will. You'll still gt stung occaisionally, but once you develop a rapport with the company you'll reap the rewards. My WOF, tyre etc guys have long stopped asking me why I want something done, and now just suggest cheaper or better alternatives or just get on wih it. I get discount, and I never have to book - always just ring before I turn up and they fit me in. But its taken quite some time (and many many $$$) to get to that point.

Youre a sick c**t Gary - thats why I like you bra.

true. So is it motronic 1 vs 1.1? while we are on the topic I'd be interested to know in general what vehicles ran what.

Classic. highlights - scum matt black e30 touring with steelies drifting round the roundabout, fiat paddock basher, and e21 drift.

Thanks - I probably will, was just toying with the idea of doing it myself - pretty sure I can't be bothered now though, but thanks for everyones suggestions.

Had a 4.45 in my 320 auto when I went manual - Waaaaay tooo short.
-
I'm pretty sure it's the metal one from memory? But my memory is rather goldfish like.
-
I found 4.11 to be a bit short, but only just - go a 3.91 or at tallest a 3.71 for a manual 320.
