Indexes mean I don't have to pay all that much attention or do all that much research. My main passion is property, but with 80% of my portfolio in property I need something else - thus sharemarket indexes - diversification without having to do too much thinking. I've looked at a couple of 1st NZ Cap funds (Claedonia Investments - CDN.NZ/CLDN.LN, RIT Capital Partners - RCP.LN, and Aberdeen New Dawn - ABD.LN) How do you find 1st NZ CAP as far as a securities firm goes?

Does ASB let you trade in indexes?

I have a nz share at an all-time high. Need to expand share portfolio so plan to sell that share, add some cash I have on term deposit and diversify. NZ dollar is high - world sharemarket low - perfect time to buy overseas shares. Thinking a UK/Europe index fund, plus a UK/Europe fund with industry based in China, plus a US index fund plus an Australia index fund plus a NZ index fund. Anyone know where I can go for either online share trading, or even better a broker who knows what they are doing who can suggest funds that will suit me. Cheers

Cain is on the money about the luxury car tax, but Australia also has tighter Jap import laws, so all used cars are slightly higher priced anyway. Someone needs to lobby parliament over there - e30's luxury car???? WTF? Maybe they need a 20yr classic car expemption on things like that. Only prooblem is huge depreciation if you own a car at the point it turns 20.

Bigger pics? Look good bro from what I can see.

Bit hard keeping up. KT wanted to be Spanner Girl. Asked Andrew (you lazy arse) to change it but no go, next thing, bloody TronSpec and Hi Tower turn up, then Ollie changes KT to Spanner Girl and me to just bravo (everyone kept thinking my name was mike???) and next thing you know Andrew activates self-name change and all hell breaks loose. I did notice though that me, KT, Emma and Gary are all from nthland, and up until a couple of hours ago, the only people to change their name were at the northland meet - must be something in the water?! Hard case tho.

reckon? I was thinking charcoal-silver-grey on black? Was only going to get Shelley to vinyl them at first and If I liked 'em they'd be included in the new paint. A pic of a car done like that or some talented p-shop would help. Anyone? Denny Crane lol

And the one I keep in my glovebox to prove to the fuzz that my vehicle does NOT require a cert for my springs etc: LVV Thresholds

Old thread... but... Sam - any details of that car? more pics? I'm interested in copying the stripes but on a black car.

Yeah - I wonder if I can get the inserts. I want to refurbish the wheels in shadow chrome then have charcoal inserts on a black car - will look fantastic, but finding inserts may be impossible.

2x4 fits perfectly under the boot carpet on top of the spare. only need 2 small squareish blocks. Cheaper than a new jack, but if you want a jack solution, the a small scissor or bottle jack for the win.

Finally tracked down what model of momo wheel I have. It is called the X1 Web research shows that they originally came with spoke inserts that are colour-matched to the vehicle. VERY unlikey, but does anyone maybe know where I could find some??? Pic of wheels below:

Dirve up on a block of 2x4 before you put the jack under.

Keeping Rampant now I think. Other car - SOLD

f**k that's a long skid mark - whoever stole your car can't drive to save themselves (obviously). Insured? I feel for you dude - that sh*t sucks big hairy balls. Looks repairable though - new rims or fix that one, obviously tie rod or rack broke - andy damage to strut top? New guard etc - fixed. Might be a grand or two, but definately fixable.

These were quite common in the states at one time. i think they look like arse.

Manual pushes price up slightly - I'd say you could easily get $6-8k. $6k seems to be roughly right. Feck I paid that for my first e30!
-
You could try the media - it prob won't work, as either the public will say "speeding is speeding - take an ambulance", or the cops will do their usual "we don't cave to media pressure" bollocks, but then again it may work - human interest story with reminiscing of halcyon days where the cop would actually give you a envoy to the hospital.

Leave your personal life out of it Tried to make my old 320 fly off a bluff down a bush-clad bank. Couldn't see the car from the road it was that far down, but soft plantings broke my fall. Large tree took out drivers wing mirror (thank god I wasn't 2 feet to the right). Straightened slightly knocked drivers side b-pillar, new front guard, new front valance, 2x new drivers side doors, paint, wheel align - $800 later you couldn't tell it had ever been in an accident - chassis checked and straight, never any future handling or suspension probs. no injuries save shock.

I only just found this out myself: The vents on the rear parcel tray allow airflow from the cabin into the boot. Air then escapes the car through the rubber flap-type vents in the rear quarter panels. This setup allows smooth airflow from the front cabin vents out the rear of the car. Smoothing over the parcel tray vents will hamper your cars ability to dirculate air, but that is all. May mean your heater/cooling is less effective, but I'm not sure. Springs -$100-150 Fenders - $25-30 depending on condition Leather - let the market deicde. I ahve seen them go for $600-1000 Sump - $30-50 These prices are based on what I have paid for those things in the past. Prices fluctuate. Lately prices for parts have been dropping as so many people jump on the e30-wrecking bandwagon. there used to be only 3 main e30 wreckers in AKL on TM and they hiked up prices. Now there are plenty (although be aware, most have multiple TM usernames). I have got a mint door complete with windows, motors etc for $5, and then been unable to find one a week later for less than $70. But those prices will give you an idea of where to start.
