How was ten years off for ya working out? Now they have stopped mincing around with other motorsport disciplines they can get back what they do best. And we can start getting some new road going motorsport spin offs.

Putting in standard run of the mill softish lowering springs wont cause subframe to unibody problems in a e46. most of the comments on this issue are speculation from the internet panic patrol. The problem is only caused by hard acceleration and de-acceleration which causes the subframe to put stress on the unibody / floor pan hard mount points. Metal fatigue sets in as any metal does when its stressed back and forth. Eventually the unibody / floor pan starts to tear. You can get the floor pan welded for a repair however it will just happen again. The best preventitive way around this is installing re-inforcement plating. Or having a new weld in floor pan section which needs to be obviously professionally installed by a panel beater with the right hi-voltage plasma welders as well as finished and re-constructed. Hope this clears up the myth of 'subframe' failure for e46's which is actually unibody / floor pan failure.

looks absolutly stunning ! dragons are manditory .. get baby to hold the camera!

just a minor correction on this. Lowering the car wont cause the subframe issue only running stiffer springs and driving hard all the time causes the front and rear mounts to rip the unibody mounts to subframe. Its actually abusively hard accerlation and de-celleration (without brakes) that causes it. and only really from a stand still. Racing it around a track a lot will also do it. Hitting the bump stops (for being too low) causes trailing arm and upper strut tower damage which is a different problem.

use pure canuba wax and as high grade as you can afford. This is how my newly polished LMs are being looked after. for polishing ... dont f**k around with dremel... use this http://www.mothers.com/02_products/05140.html

E46328C break warning light on now
hybrid replied to htra024's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
get it scanned bro.. the warning light is only telling you there is an error code of some sort. there are many error codes that come from the braking system. Have you looked at your discs yet to even see if they need replacing? for pricing on discs just give one of the dealers a phone. Dont install non OEM rotors or pads (unless its a qaulity replacement like brembo etc etc) especailly on an e46 as they WILL just warp and youll be up for paying for some more again anyways. Best way is OEM full stop. -
Steering wheel is extra. I only had the rubber standard one which I had to purchase a whole new wheel. Managed to get mine for $550 brand new but that was a deal of the century at the time. If you have a MS steering wheel with non MF then all you need is the cover with controls. If you need the whole wheel then get ready to bend over. Check german ebay. Also note that the MS 5 series MF steering wheel, x5 4.8is steering steering will also work as will the e46 wiring retro fit into it. Despite what BMW parts division will say
-
sure is. As well as phone controls if you were to put a OEM BMW or parrot -> e46 BlueTooth kit in
-
Nah its easy enough, grab yourself a old wire coat hanger or similar and tape any wires to it and pull it through the grommit. This from e46 fanatics to help with the pictures situation.

Unfortunitly this aint no personal home page. We have gone back to a model that works, own bandwidth and own servers. Means we can keep a closer eye on it and stop relying on other peoples stuff.
-
good stuff man ... coming together nicely!

Epic f**k out 2 for the year .. hopefully thats the last of them but this time we have put some measures in so it wont happen again. We have moved hosters and gone back onto my old servers so we have control of our systems again. Which has allowed us to make sure backups are being done properly. There was a massive team effort to bring it back online including data recovery. It was quite touch and go for a while there. But im glad we are back Massive thanks to Cliff, Ollie, Andrew, Heineken, Skype and rack dragons.
