Great to see one of these threads every once in a while! There are truely some great people on this site that help us learn and are a great wealth of knowledge. Its interesting actually, there are even more people out there I have found who dont belong to this site whole have been quitely going about what they do on BMW's doing some cool stuff.

Dragged these pics up from an old post. The s50b32 has had a bit of a hard life outside and unfortunily had water in cylinder 1 which has caused a bit of pitting. The crank also hand a bit of minor rust on it but nothing that a bit of machining wont fix. Rust in Cylinder 1 s50 block (note 3.2ltr cylinder walls are pretty thin as standard in the ole iron block) Head Double Vanos and cams which is going to be blanked off and removed in favour of a locked adjustible timing gear system. As it stands cylinder 1 is being bored to 18thou to check that the pitting doesnt extend over the 20 thou (.5mm) bore we are looking to do. Standard pistons are 86.4mm we will take it to 86.9mm.

Yeah thats the one... Yeah I think its a 'later model' thing as you said. Mine doesn't come with the distrobution block .. but there is a chunky alloy block with 4 lines that comes out of it. I've actually seen it on both sides of e46's depending on the model of car. 99% sure your red 330i msport has remote res.

It's a 99/00 not an 01 as it has the s50b32 not the s54b32. Another case of people reading the registration import date and not the cars manufacturing date. If you cross checked the chassis number it will most likely come up as a 99. Sweet looking car however!

Any thought on what your doing with the heater box ? obviously too big to fit but im wondering if you can chop it down. Around the remote reservoir thing .. You could also run a 330i one. I can't quite remember if your 328i ran a 4 line distrobution block or not ? So have this some dont. I can't quite see from the photos.

Looking really good. RE: rubbing Yeah still trying to work that one out. Mine, the outside part the wheel hits the front inner wheel arch on almost full lock. Going to have to do something about that

Best thing you can do is match your shocks to your spring rate. Im not sure why but lots of pics floating around after people have lowered their cars of their fronts sitting a tad too high. Apex your setup is perfect roadible height. Will be quizzing you in a month or so about it (more on why later peeps )

Use this video converter. you have to really use a preset like mpeg4 then punch in some manual settings but the encoder it uses is the best around (ffmpeg). It understands everything to everything. This is the windows gui for it called WinFF http://winff.org/html_new/ I pull my 1280x720p 30fps 16:9.MOV h264 vids down to 640x360 30fps MPEG4 16:9 1000kbps. Leaves them nice and small for upload and youtube converts them a ton faster.

This is awesome. I was thinking what it would be like to push the engine back some what.

Oh nearly forgot :/ a big thanks to Ray and his son Sam for all the work they did yesterday on the car before brendon and I got there... They turned a long night into a short 2 hour session which allowed us to get on with cleaning.
