  1. Looks too america to wear the BMW badge. I do kind of like it in a school kid book cover sorta way.
  2. Thought I'd start this segment off as more and more of you move to the awesomeness that is Windows 7. After an interesting week of setting up Media Portal on Windows 7 with the new SRM 7500 remote. A few little gotcha's in windows 7 we sorted out. Big one being turning off password after stand by mode. You you all may be thinking thats easy, just turn it off in the power profile under "Requires password on wake up" . Which works on my laptop .. But I had a problem when after about 20 minutes the setting would revert back. Which for a media / TV box was beyond annouying when using the remote to power up the machine. So the fix for it was, set it how you want then run from CMD, "gpupdate /force" which forces group policy to accept the changes. Few more would be ... grab a window and hold down the left mouse button so youre dragging the window. Then wiggle the mouse. All the windows should minimise except the one your dragging around. Dont want to hear anything about vista, we'll just pretend that OS didn't happen. Post your tips and tricks here
  3. I get 380 - 450 for city driving 550 - 750 open road m54b30 on 98 RON
  4. Sweet, if they make it for phone lockout mode when using them in gps mode, the safer it will be to drive in auckland in rush hour.
  5. Please correct me if I'm wrong and im only basing this info off my friends iphone with maps. There is a sh*t load of difference between them. The main one being a dedicated sat nav system has voice directions, and there isn't the tempation to 'fiddle' while driving which realistically is what happens when people 'drive' with a cell phone in reach. Iphone or not. also the comment thats its a bullshit law isn't correct either, I cannot wait for this to come in. I can then maybe drive without the worry of some d*ck head yet again on his phone behind me and locking it up because they aren't doing what they are spose to be doing. ****ing driving!
  6. why do people do this on trademe ... it makes them sound retarded. "(TO MUCH TO LIST IN THIS ADD!) " Spelling a side, you're trying to sell the vehicle. The more detail the better. :|

Everyone askes me the same question! I'm personally perplexed as to why everone is so fixated on this. After months of driving my setup, It's far sharper than the standard brakes and once the car / brakes heat up at speed its nice to have a little give. Otherwise all you end up doing is locking it up too easy. I find in real world terms, you can ease the brakes on (or punch / stab them on) and they wont bite you in the ass. The cars running a non ABS setup so its a must for me
  8. For those who missed it. A couple of rough videos and some photos of the track progress. http://www.flickr.com/photos/30703115@N05/...57622338071065/ enjoy.
  9. what he said, the internet is not the place to diagnose it.

    The bastard child.

Once its lowered, the e46 rear geometry gives good camber. May even need a positive camber correction kit if he intendends to dump it right down.

Found it..!!! (took most the morning!) The bumpers etc are a bit of an abortion but the guards speak for themselves. They still look stock! The guy who did my e46 told me that nothing is impossible. Its just metal and welding. It just depends how good your panel beater is

all about heating and using a hydraulic roller to get it out some what. If its possible to push my e46 bonnet power buldge out using this process, its defanitly possible to push the guards out. You create 'more' metal by lifting the height so to speak.

As you can see the fronts have been pulled out. It is just a case of doing the same to the rears.

I'm more thinking that rolling the gaurds out / extruding. Using the same metal but making the gaurd arch height bigger in the shoulder to stop it looking weird. Pumping guards is an easy thing to f*** up. As not to wreck the lines of the car, I'm going to be taking the e46 m3 approach to it. Taller arches which will allow for a smoother arch in the cross section and there for allowing for a wider guard with out looking strange. It's a pretty easy formula. The wider you go, the higher you go. The only problem (not really a problem just more work) is the qauter panel 'fold' line will need to be also merged in.

Heated and roll man like those mk1 / mk2 escourts. I have about as much flare as you and im using the standard guards. They are getting extruded out however.

    RaceFX M3 GTR Race Car

Saw this at RFX a few weeks ago without panels on and all I can say is wow! The panel moldings are awesome too.
  17. * If you want white/blue cast light instead of orange * modern looking twinkle etc yeah they are worth it. If you see no benefit in the above, flag it they are expensive to do properly. What vehicle you talking putting it into?
  18. Before everyone freaks you out. Some simple things your mechanic can check are the front and rear sway bar links. The multilink / semi trailing arm setup also has about 1000 bushes so this also could be the problem. Do you get the problem under hard acceleration from stand still? This could simply be a broken diff mount. It happened to me. another fairly embarrassing problem I found once in mine. I had one of my Xenon balast boxes actually knocking on the wheel arch in the engine bay. This cause me to think it was the suspension, but triple checking everything it just turned out to be the balast box :| It makes quite the noise and sound identicle to suspension components.
  19. Awesome work !!! ... great to see it on the front page! and even better story! I think we are going to start a bimmersport rare BMWs registry.
  20. Who said its the nats that came up with it? This is just inter-agency job justification. They still have to pass it through paraliment select committee.
  21. Hahaha .. when I bought the m325i they had these junk tires on it. For the short time I used the car with them on it they got dubbed "Movie tires" as they lite up so well. In the wet the car was a lot of fun. Went to 8.5/18inch with direzza's and never looked back.
  22. The speed limit change has been debated before. It won't happen. The hippies always have these 'justify my job' 'brain storm' conferences. The ideas still have to go through pratical application and fesibilty studies. The same result is met each time, they get thrown out.
  23. Great day! .. have some footage of andys car .. also some pit footage of others including the e92 m3 (before its off before the back straight) and the e46 v8.
