Nissan GT-R over the m3's ?? wtf Most people agree the GTR is awesome but far from a 'drivers' car. Its does everything for you. I would of thought the definition of a drivers car was something that brings lots of enjoyment when driven enthusiastically. Ford Sierra Cosworth at #97 ???? Renault Clio V6 at # 25???? erm .. over some of the others on that list ? maybe the title should be EVO mag UK - Top 100 Drivers Cars as voted by joe public!

As glenn says, thats all it needs. A knock on effect can happen, While the car has fail safes the e46 is a little bitch when it comes to driviblity (wierd throttle, funny small problems / lack of power etc) when a sensor is giving you grief. When you are driving on the flat underload and then go up an incline you may notice the power 'flat-spot' or drop off.

Bring it over, Ill reset the DME/EGS adaptive maps and it can adapt to your mums style of driving. It takes about a week / a tank of gas to settle in to its new driving style. The other thing is you may have what mine suffering from, dull sensors, which really affects the throttle response. Always gets worse when its 15-20 degrees c and raining. Another cause of this is the accelerator pedal potentiometer (which gives signal for throttle can play up, however I think from what your discribing its just the adaptive maps and possible sensors problems) Anyways .. bring it over we can take it from there.

I find it very strange people are willing to part with 10k for something they haven't seen or got a PPI on. Its a stock 540i pre-Vanos and pre facelift with HM2 wheels on it and no motorsport options. Am I missing something ? it looks like a normal price for one of these.

have used retro too for my e46 interior. Far better than OEM finish in both material and stitching.

I dont because of this reason. Kiwi car mags just dont get to drive everything. So while you get a reveiw of a certain type of car they base it on availiblity from the dealers (which is fair enough) but its hardly as coloured and diverse as its overseas couterparts. I find them pretty dry because of this. I do enjoy reading NZ v8's however.

Take someone with you in the car whos pretty good with cars .. have then climb around your car when it happens. Its easy enough to find stuff like this with someone else. Or atleast the general location of it.

I have yes, Its a fibre glass kit / gaurds molded and bonded to metal. While is really well done, its still 20 year old fibre glass. The paint and glass is bumpish (not too bad) like glass / filler goes. It would make someone a good conversion project car or racecar. However as a race car .. I would hate to have a crash in it and massive repair bill to get the panels back. It is a qaulity job for what it is. Mecanically it had a bung idle control valve. Which I think has been sorted since as it was bugging the guy at the time. Its been garaged its whole life and is a good 325 as expected. Interior is clean and tidy but not mint. Not sure why it has since failed its warrent as it seemed in warrentible condition when I viewed it 3 years ago, but it does have a different exhuast than when I last saw it. Probably an easy enough fix with getting a good center muffler made to quiten it down some what. [edit] Its is rough by my standards but im overly anal about paint and finish. I would say its worth around 6-8k

It's very common for the factory speakers copper coilings to get dry / brittle and scratch the inside of the driver armeture. This causes a fuzz or farting / cracking sound on certain music. It happened to my front speaker and last about 6months until one day it just stopped. It hasn't come back since. I use to have several songs that it would happen on as they resonated a certain bass note. You have three options. 1) replace the speaker for a factory unit 2 ) have a look at the BSW sound direct replacement speaker system or 3 ) leave it until it goes away (broken copper coil wire wears out).

they are s50b32 headers... which is what the z3m / m-coupe runs. z3m/m-coupe are nothing more than e30 chassis pans with e36 m3 evo donks in them. This is unless of corse its from the rare 01-02 model in that case its an s54 header (highly doubt it) The headers are the same as my ones I showed you

Rep wheels are fine for the average person however it totally depends on how the wheel was cast in the first place and the qaulity of the metal. I had a set of wheels that cost me around 8k .. and they bent all the time if I hit anything that wasn't flat road. Learn't my lession by buying another set of wheels this time they are forged. You really do pay for what you get. Lots of junky wheels floating around at the moment. Best thing you can do is save a little bit longer and get the wheels you really want.

Stock e30 325 half shaft splines / CV's will handle about 300hp before they start becoming a problem. This is all subjective obviously to application of power but will give you a rough idea. EG dont expect it to be a drag car, but it will handle it fine if your streeting it.

You would then run a tire side wall that is champhered or maybe a mild stretch of 255 width to fine tune the mm vs ride height. Mine are a 39 offset with a falkin fk-452 265 30% profile rear on 9.5. My gaurds have been pumped out using a hydraulic roller and repainted with but I'd think your bang on with your offset's on a standard setup. You can always as nick said roll your guards around and get a decent set of champhered rubber to match.
