Yeah, just working out the logistics of timing between the engine build and body. We are powered coating all subframe bits. and caging it the same time the engine is having its make over. Sweet .. interior strip will be after the mock up.. Mock up should be next week at this stage depending on the new arrivels from the states. Certainly will be appreciating the help for the interior

Yeah badass ... will much appreciate the help. Still deciding weather or not to seam weld the main sections of the body or not. Tending towards doing it.

Next is s50b32 mock up and getting ready for the engine build. After this we have the interior strip out and roll cage install.

Went to view this car the first time it was on trademe a few years a go. As I stated before its a fiber glass kit that is 20+ years old now. It has been pretty well done as far as fiber glass goes however as always glass on metal deterioates after time. It would actually make a pretty good race car shell for someone and a cheap way to get the m3 shape.

I have a ASUS 901 EEE that I use for everything mobile like running my diag software on cars. The really do rule. They are good enough to run as a daily desktop with mouse keyboard / monitor etc plugged in. If you run it at 'hyper' overclocked mode its pretty sweet. It will play most movies including 720p. Great if all your doing is what 95% of people use there computers for. ASUS is about to release the new intel dual core atom processor .. so it may pay to wait for that one? How ever the 1.6ghz atom still works sweet for most things. You probably want to get one with HDD and not just SSD. I have the 4gb C and 16gb D driver version which work well except the D is a lot slower than the C SLC driver and you cant really run the OS from it. and the 4gb does get quite small quickly running XP. You can upgrade these however just get HDD in something like the EEE 101 or what ever your pref is.

haha all good sorry maybe I missed something are you running spacers or did you get those wheels tidied up / redished? or did you just get very lucky on the wheels? The LM's im running stick out about an inch of each guard so I will be having the guards heated pulled to coupe with the wider track. Then I can lower it down as far as I can while keeping some travel. The fronts inner guard cowlings are going to require some panel work so I can get full lock with the new 3.0 rack going in righto .. Im thinking bare metal at this stage .. with diamond stiched black saude later down the track with carbon fiber bits and brushed machined alloy for the rest. thats like some of the last things ill look at.

Delmont is also running 600 odd HP of exponential peak power and a wider track / center of gravity. He will be running a soft spring rate with firm shocks. Its standard practice in RWD turbo cars with savage delivery of power and the need for grip. The drag guys also use this principle a bit more extremely than to say track vehicles. Another extreme example of the oppersite end of the scale is the cowans in the e36 touring car with the s50b32. It's setup is way too hard and the car dances around all over the place because of it on corner exit. Its a perfect case of a car that needs to run split spring rates / tender springs for the bumps and exit delivery. There is no silver bullet in spring rates that will suit all conditions as you are probably aware of. RaceFX have a lot of knowledge in the BMW setup(s) so im am very very keen to see how this will go on your car as we are doing the complete oppersite with pretty much indentical power/weight setup to yourself.

I decided on medium track setup for NZ's sh*t bumpy track surfaces 525f/700r with a medium/hard shock. Most DTM rates are around 1000 mark and 1175 rear. With those rates youll want reinforced / rebuilt rear towers and reinforced rear trailing arms perchs / seam welded body and ties to all major hard points tied to the roll cage.

Its not so much the lights but the frame rate of the Cameras taking the footage. The capture of most of these vids is at 25 fps. The LED lights on these cars will cycle at a a similarly divisible frame rate causing the weird flickering on video.

One less Tech1 on the road

I run IntraveeII on my mkIV satnav / BM54 setup. If you want ipod intergration with proper control on 16:9 display .. Its pretty much the only real option. Would be nice to be able to play the audio from the 'movies' playlist and it activate to video out mode could then input from reversing camera and have sound in stereo.

Nah, sorry I was on the shore. There is another e46 330i with m3 front and mtech2 coupe rear and m3 side skirts w/out bonnet buldge and running on rep 18inch m3 wheels that parks in kingsland area. I have also seen a few e46 sedans with m3 rep front bumper driving around. Last time I was in east auckland was in the e30 two weekends a go.

There was a nice silver one going for 25k late last year ... sooo tempted. While it was mint (interior and exterior) .. It had modern wheels on it and a few other modernisations.
