Budget is about 20-30k max I'm not really interested in anything japanese. Theyre just not good enough and are always at least 5 years behind the mark. I have been looking at the Audi and Golfs but for the same years the interiors seem to not really hit the mark till the latest gen cars which are sitting about 5-10 too high for budget and to me interior design is a big + I wanted to stay RWD, as i've done my younger years in FWD and AWD and they're just not for me. I'm not so worried about the harsh ride thing, I have spent the last 10 years with either motorsport suspension and/or modified coil over suspension and the wife also. Cool guys thanks for the feedback. Always great to hear a good spread of people. If anyone has any more feel free to post it up!

Youtube cracks me up .. doesnt take long to go from on-topic to off topic wierd. Have to check myself sometimes to stay on topic haha. Poor old TV. doesnt even get a look in these days.

Also have a look at the live data and check the Idle Control input value. It should match the MAF intake values. The cause could be anything, but my bet is a intake vaccum issue. As Glenn says a scan might just bring up some tell tail signs in the shadow memory. If the errors are sporadic, you should have a count how many times they happen. If theyre constant then it may be a lot more obvious.

cheers for the comments. Havent driven one yet no. Yeah, would love to stretch to a diesel but they seem to demanding about another 10k for the similar ks / age car. Living in Auckland is a funny thing, basically you live most of your time in traffic so you don't get to do a lot of testing the throttle more testing the brake. Will look up the nxx oil leak thing. Im sure it cant be worse than the m62 gaskets haha.

Hey guys, Been giving serious consideration to getting into a 120i Motorsport. Ideally looking at 08-09. Any experiences people can share ? good / bad / otherwise ? This will be for the Wife and I as a 'daily'. Looking also for reliability. I'm not too fussed about lots of power, more interested in fuel economy at this point in time. I still have the e30 for hooning so can get the weekend fix with that. cheers Josh

Drove Sam's e30 SR20det today. Dynoed 300kw at the wheels at 12psi. Was pretty a educational drive .. its strange thinking your at 80 and your actually at 150. Looks stock as too ..

Pitty the GTE is watered down so much. I dont think itll get that much fanfare as its following in the shadow of the GT3

See this thing in my travels ... distinctly remember hooning past it in the e30 on top of the harbour bridge north bound one day. Sweet car

Basically, throw your spindle based HDD in the bin. Actually open the computer right now and rip it out and put it in the trash. Then go get an SSD drive and install. your virus scanner will never even bother you ever again its so fast.

Removing the cats and not either retuning or reflashing with non cat DME software will cause over fueling and there for less power as far as the DME is concerned. The DME gets pretty confused as the difference between pre and post cat sensors is the same and will never be different.

This is what its on now Not just any old one either .. hence the speed increase. Im strongly against hosting big sites (busy forums) on overseas DCs. NZ international pipe makes it quite latent ..

The server it was running on was nearly 10 years old. In its time it has run some of New Zealands top ten websites and while other servers have come and gone .. 'h2' has been the one to stick around.. It seems memory failure as everytime we tried to copy any decent file size .. it would literally hang. This is the main reason it took so long to come back on line. This was after a pretty decent effort to use electrical cleaner clean and compressed air / reseat the ram and CPU. Another issue potentially was the powersupply had just got old and was under volting the main board. Unfortunately the PSU was bespoke so couldnt be tested. Anyways, its now sitting on some pretty grunty apple servers in a VM. Still has fibre connected etc.

took ages to get meatspin.com out of my DNS cache on my phone ... thanks cliff

My two live on it. Another good one is the quick detailer to help keep the wax in great shape ... after washing, a top up with that it works wonders. Also I've started using carnauba wax on the wheels ... unbeatible shine.

Hi guys, Currently doing some server work, it will be restarting on and off through out this weekend. Expect the site to be on line and off line often. Cheers Bimmersport Admins

Cant wait to get started on the beast these are going onto.

Oh yeah, If you do get an e39, and youre at 110-120ks .. Do all of the cooling system replacements. Doesnt always mean radiator. But all of the hoses and plastic bits. Also reaplce the thermostat regardless and get a metal impellar water pump. Water pump is a whore btw .. requires some funky angles without removing the AC hoses but is possible once you work it out.

Looking rad dude ... will be a nippy wee thing once done.
