  1. washed it. third time this month. E30 Life
  2. just 'carjam'ed it, yup same car
  3. ok so for someone that doesnt know anything about photography, basically you are saying the distance between the camera lens and the foreground objects is much greater than the distance from the foreground objects to the background? and then crop photo to suit? rather than having the camera right up close to the object which is what it looks like in the end result, is this right?
  4. on a G240 which is very similar, its on the side, usually a small round plug looking thing with a terminal coming out of it. from memory its near the back of the transmission (but still on the side), opposite side to your photo
  5. so sounds like we should just suck it up. so you guys reckon they are better than kingstars/triangle/bluestreak etc??
  6. i certainly dont claim to know much about photography, but if the focus is on the little cars at the front, shouldnt the background be real blury and viseversa?
  7. great, just brought some, probably can get it cheaper shopping around but f-it lol
  8. it is very nice you are right, especially as it is known for all the wrong reasons years gone by, im sure the owners are well aware of
  9. lol you and tech2 towhook covers don't mix haha Edit: The Red is Calypsot Red Metallic I think the best colour especially for e30 verts and e34 tourings hehehe
  10. Hi Guys A family member has brought herself a 2010 Corolla from an Genuine Toyota Dealership. Window price was paid, only condition was car was to get a new WOF and Rego, and a new seat of tyres because the old ones were originals and bald (tradein car) They have replaced the tyres with Supercats which obviously not up to OE Spec which from a quick google appear to be Michelins. She does motorway driving every day to work at non-rush hour so 100km/h. Also frequent holidays around NZ, always takes the car So no question that they aren't suitable, and they will be coming off the car. That's not the question My question is, do you think it's reasonable to accept that they replaced the tyres as advised, and up to us to fit suitable tyres, or do you think that especially from an Authorised dealership the car should be presented to a standard meeting or exceeding the original saftey standards etc, and I should be getting them to put the correct tyres on the car? Cheers for your help guys
  11. sounds be okay if less than $3k. Paint my need some work. ask for some photos out of the garage so you can actually see the car, dont know why people put photos like those on. Plenty of E30 Guys down here in wellington to help you out with problems if/when they occur too
  12. yes always good to price up doing it yourself before you make a claim. Even if it is only $50 or $100 more than your excess to do it yourself, usually a good idea to keep your premiums down in the future.
  13. saw a very rare 2002 Touring today, have seen it around a few times now. Are you a member here????
  14. no, its one or the other. just like you cant have bottle caps and weaves on your car at the same time.
  15. nice! i had a four door tech2 with an M52 for a while. wouldnt be bothered with an M50 conversion, when you can have that extra 0.3L and better torque for next to nothing extra tell me more about the front lip on the bottom of the tech2 kit
  16. Same mounting points as a standard spoiler so you can go ahead and drill it. I was advised to put some nail polish on the end of the threads then line it up in the boot lid and drop it down so It touches to mark the spots where to drill. Not that rare here really. More likely to find one here than in the USA, pretty sure tech1 cars were never offered there because its incompatible with their diving board bumpers
  17. Very nice Alpine White E30 with imported euro plates in Moera, must be someone here. I was in my van ha
  18. Id remove them for the oxymoron alone No such thing as "5-star" etc anymore. call your insurance company or local alarm retailer/installer if you dont believe me. Something to do with the fact that it was just marketing with noone actually setting a standard to work to
  19. no, Rowan and I both have a Tech1 spoiler, which is a two piece spoiler. post a picture of your one, Ill tell you what it is. Ive seen most E30 spoilers now
  20. great result well done. Whats next?
  21. Blues Brothers one of my favourite movies and also holds the World Record for most amount of cars destroyed while filming a police chase too. possibly one of the reasons its my fave ??
  22. usually easier to get another box. Not sure if possible to repair, my self taught education stops there ha if your E30 is a prefacelift 325i, remember to get the gearbox type that has a hole in the bellhousing for the rear crank position sensor. Later types dont have it
  23. OP DONT put the stickers of what brand the alarm is on the window. install the flashing LED in the dash and leave it at that. Fairly easy to hack alarms anyway, you are only making it easier telling them what brand it is. If you had asked me 2 months ago, i would have said that I wont buy anything that isn't Uniden. But now looking at an AVS system for my convertible, because the microwave sensors for the Uniden are a very expencive option. Keep away from Australian made ones like Mongoose etc. I have heard all sorts of stories Worth telling whoever is installing it you want it soldered and heatshrinked etc into the dash loom, and not just crimped in. Have heard of people falling for the "X-Brand Installed, only $399" is just crimped in etc. okay for the first 6 months untill you get vibration into the connections etc. Tell them you will pay for the extra time if needed etc. On of my mates brothers is an Autosparky, the sh*t he sees.. Is your Hiace sign written? Im renting a place in between houses in a dodgy area, 2 of my 3 BMWs have been atempted to be broken into, but not the Hiace yet. But every panel has company logo?
