it was mainly reference to loosing the bootlid mounted high stop light. But... OCD alert.... ...now its on there, and it may just be my imagination, but there does seem to be a difference in the two corners at the base of where the C pillar is (or would be at least). on the coupe/sedan type, it appears to be more flared upwards than the convertible type. Those corners are sitting about 3-4mm higher than they should be. sounds insignificant but its fairly obvious in person (to me anyway). Of course, maybe the lid was just sitting on those corners while in storage and something put on top etc?? maybe i can find a soultion to make the lid sit further down.

WTB: E30/E34 Touring or E30 Cabriolet (found!)

that blue one, he is dreaming. Mine is in as good if not better condition, and facelift which seems to be more sort after, and i paid much less. In my opinion, the only way an E30 vert would go for that kind of money (15k) is if it was immaculate, and had an original MTechnic 2 Bodykit, manual, leather seats, fully optioned etc. Does such a car even exist? im sure they do, unlikely in New Zealand -
Looks like order was sent in two parcels, I got all the frames and all the plates that arent the black fern NZ replicas, just waiting on the second parcel to arrive containing all the ones with the black ferns. Quite a big order so sent in two parcels. So will have the ones i got here sent out tomorrow, will update when i get the second parcel.

Havent driven the Mazda 6 thats out now, but have had both the mk1 and mk2 generations in the family, have driven both many many times. The first gen was amazing at the time, on par with anything else in same sector. More than enough power. Given the alternatives of that or a Mk2 Mondeo, i would choose the Mazda only because of the badge on the front, there is no other advantage of one over the other. May even be the same platform, not sure?? Family brought it new in 2003 or so, it still in the family now at 180,000kms and still no big bills i know of. But having said that, if its in your budget, the Mk2 Mazda 6 is phenominal car, a real step over the one before it, its everything you need like aircon and an awesome stereo, nice command centre, without having to use a )*^(*^ing touchscreen to get to it. If one of those is in your budget, i dont think you could choose a better vehicle of this age and type.

whats the point?? Id rather have a hoist

actually yes our one is pretty thirsty too. but both me and the main driver of it drive it with a bit more of a leaded foot than we should. We are getting about 10.5L/100km according to fleet calculator (just logged in) and thats mostly motorway driving. Also the transmission gets pretty warm sometimes so that wouldnt surprise me your comment. Ford said thats normal, i didnt believe them so we just gave it an oil and filter change and been right ever since. Plus technically they are a European car ha, the Mk2's are all made in Belgium

We have had a wagon one at work for the past three years maybe longer (thats how long i been at the company) in that time its done about 60-80,000kms. never had a single problem, now its just over 200,000kms now. Only one incident that could have happened to anyone Very nice to drive, goes pretty well for a 2L Automatic too. Id definately consider one if i needed a car for work

a convertible in invercargil??????

should have enough time. Might need a friend to help you get the transmission and diff out, they are surprisingly heavy. assuming you dont have a hoist, pro-tip, get the car up as high as you can, get the jackstands on full extension. you will need the extra height. as far as exhaust goes, Leaded petrol was phased out completely by about 1992 or so, NZ new cars didnt have cats before that because it wrecked cats, but at the time and after it they started to come in so common for them to have from then on with a sticker in the fuel cap saying unleaded only. I ran two resonators and a glasspack on my M5x was very loud and probably not legal. if you got the stock back box then just straight decat otherwise you will probably want a muffler in there, resonator may not be enough

thats what happens when you spend too much time on ebay lol. i got fake ACS badges on my car but damn

really cool to see where we all came from. Since people are posting it, the car i actually learnt to drive in was one of these, was driving it on the road and around my old man farm since i was about 12 years old. I liked it because the grill looked like one of a Hummer which were huge (no pun intended) at the time. Like this one, even same colour, it had removable back half like this, also front widscreen folded down and the doors came off if you removed the pin so became a full open top nothing above the bonnet line etc was expecting something like this from you!

ones that are already 15-20 years old and dont cost the earth to maintain, something rare or a bit special, something thats a car, not an appliance. I have never seen the point of buying a new car unless you have a business to claim back the depreciation, even then still not worth it in a lot of cases.

shouldn't take long to sell at that price point! good luck with the sale!

what is this? a VW at a guess?
