X brace is well documented to have the biggest gain on the E30 convertible. there is actually less tower movement in a cabby compared to a sedan/coupe because of the rigidty plates tying them to the outside of the car. insteal, the whole front end moves in relation to the back, this is what you want to stop, and need an underbody X brace to do so. remember its all extra weight to an already heavy car (about 1450kg stock). the cabbys just arent sports cars.

and yet BP can give fuel away for free. going off topic a bit here..... I dont believe those diagrams at all. if fuel really had so little margin in it, it wouldnt be profitable for the oil giants, nor would they be price competitive.

never heard of spring pads being a requirement. they are only for comfort and to keep the noise down etc. but i could be wrong.

Have seen a few over the years that damage the strut and push out at the bottom of the spring purch from running with no pad. then rust gets in there not a good look. probably want thinnest you can get otherwise will counteract the whol point of the lower tophats

$200+ worth of fluid and filter down the drain IF it shits it self, then the taxi ride to get home and another tow truck. could be $400 or so. Thier time might be free, but you could be in the hammock having a beer instead. or cut losses, use the fluids and filter on a known good trans, and set and forget. i see what you mean Kelvin but yeah just doesnt stack up.

if all you want is 20mm, take your spring pads out top and bottom, that should give you the best part of that. Or run oversize tyres next time you buy tyres, went this route on my E30, gives the low look, wheels fill up the gaurds etc but i dont need to worry about speed bumps, driveways etc.

you feeling the E30 itch after hanging out with 5 of them today?? Been on that lot for over a year, i have seen it a bunch of times, never bothered to pull over and look though, the number in the window tells me all i need to know. worth Half that if its a 325i manual. Will also give a set of black grills 100% free of charge to anyone that buys it so i never have to see it like that again.

yeah, at least with the Coraddo its a sort after car that a serious inquirer would be calling about it anyways. pretty rare etc. Or maybe the guys missus says he has to sell the car but he don't want to lol

prehaps the booster has failed from when it was hooked up incorrectly? or would the brakes be hard not soft if the booster failed (from no assistance) or maybe the booster over pressurised the master cylinder and blew that up? i dont know enough about how the system works though, someone else will now more. E30 brakes arent that flash, but are very reliable, in the 15 odd E30s i have had, never had brake problems so havent needed to learn.

i suggested heat may be an issue for the amplifier in this location, what do others think?

i wonder if i should offer them a nice 728i swap. Although i have told myself i wont own a V12 again..

brake booster or master is highly unlikely to fail coincidentally to your engine swap. something is still not hooked up correctly i would say. does yours look like the pictures i posted above now?
