  1. Eh... Looks better in that colour but maybe im biased
  2. Very nice bar those wheels! I think the price is a little high too but it's hard to tell with prices these days. Roof lining looks original to me. I have a white E30 and the headlining is the same colour and is definitely original.
  3. Used penrite for my first oil change in the E30 then switched to Redline when i could get free shipping from amazon (they were running a promotion, yipee!) got 12quart for around $150. Noticed no difference in noise, fuel consumption, performance etc. Both seem to be high quality oils. Penrite is more readily available so i`d say go with that. I am no expert! Just your average joe really :~)
  4. Hmmm... Some fun could be had through the Q&A im sure
  5. I think this was Mpower`s (ex member) car. He bought it for $500. Didnt like the people on here, got banned from the site.. Probably doesn't like BMW`s anymore.
  6. Thats the one. This is his introductory thread. Said he didnt see himself ever selling the car... Funny http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/49855-im-a-noob-with-a-e30/
  7. Retro grade good idea? Me thinks yes. If you enjoyed it in the US then i`m sure you'll enjoy it here. Older cars have a charm the newer ones lack. As for parts, the M20 was used in E30s and some E34s. My E30 has an M20 and I have no trouble at all buying parts, usually from the USA. I have the earlier model M20 too. M30 is the `bigger brother` and while I have no experience with them, parts should be just as easy to source. Good luck!
  8. It might seem stupid but if you get used to driving on the opposite side it's easy to make this mistake. I'm in turkey right now and made this mistake. Luckily I got out of the way when i saw an oncoming vehicle... I never found myself on the wrong side again. That person in the vid probably won't either.
  9. Sorry i do not have anything for sale, however i am interested in what you said about lowering your car on factory shocks to improve handling.. I was considering doing this in my E30 but was under the impression that it would worsen handling and make the car bouncy? I am not putting you on blast for saying that or anything, just wondering if it is true as i would like to go down that route too!
  10. Spotted this when I was in levin too. At the scrap car yard haha. you can imagine how i felt. thought i had come across a real gem. of course it was too good to be true though, the owner just worked there :~((
  11. Was a members car. Young kid, pretty sure it was his first car. Really nice. Very unlucky! Like Kelvin said, it really doesn't look too bad at all. I imagine someone will part it though, probably more money that way

Have been following this on and off since the beginning and like Dave said it has really come together well. I love the simple and clean look. Well done! Definitely motivates me to do some work on mine.
  13. +1 on the e34. Such a classic car. It's a members car too. Have seen it in the flesh and driven with it at a meet. Looks and sounds great. If I wasn't a student and had the funds I would but it. Always loved e34s
  14. wow 10k! i'm surprised it went for that much tbh. nice car nonetheless
  15. Not sure if you've seen this already but a similar thread was started a few weeks ago, may be helpful http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/52382-e46-m3-vs-e90-e92-m3-prons-and-cons/
  16. E46 M3 vert. very clean, plate I M111 I or something along those line. I haven't seen it on here so guessing the owner isn't a member
  17. Hello team! I will be leaving the country for 3 months to explore the world starting April 20th My E30 currently lives outdoors which bugs me but is ok while it still gets driven. While I'm away however, it will just be sitting for 3 months which is not cool at all (especially in winter). I know there are storage facilities in Wellington but they charge far too much! Unfortunately there is no garage at my house If anybody has or knows somebody with a garage space that they do not occupy and don't mind having a nice little E30 in there please let me know. I am happy to pay Also, anywhere in Wellington or even further away (~1hr drive) is not a problem. Thanks a bunch! Toby

the electric/trolley buses here in Wellington have pretty surprising amounts of torque too. Definitely throw you towards the back of the bus if you've got an inconsiderate driver who doesn't wait for you to sit down!! I can imagine the i3 being so much smaller would be impressive
  24. Replaced the fan clutch with a brand new one after trying 2 used parts. No more sitting in traffic with my heaters on full blast this summer!!
