Installed a redline alloy radiator in the 325i a while back (2yrs +) no trouble with it. Do have to say the inlet & outlet necks are shorter than factory but no issues with build quality to date Would like to know if they're chinese imports or locally built though

Meh, we all had fads in our time. Personally I don't follow the logic in introducing negative camber to cars that will be lucky to see a track once in their lives but wotever. At least they've moved on from chromies. And whale tail spoilers. And massive bodykits. And Chameleon paint. Bro. Are big subs still in?

Sterling came back at $8 for the bearing, so not too worried about a discount. Good call though, pretty sure they've got branch over in Pukekohe too

$26000 and no factory LSD??!! What a ripoff!! Not a great fan of the two tone interior but oh man what a car!

Anyone know of a place in Auckland south of the Bridge where I can grab a pivot bearing for the E36 at short notice? Was going through the pile of parts having one last check before the long awaited gearbox swap kicks off this weekend and discovered I have misplaced / never got the pivot bearing in the kit I bought Tried TM BMW on the way home to be informed that they don't bother stocking parts for such an old car anymore, and that perhaps I would be better suited to trying repco. Jerks. Sterling B&C in Onehunga have them but I'm gonna be pushing my luck to get there before closing tomorrow.(working in newmarket - live in waiuku) Has anyone used Autostop for individual clutch bits? TIA!

Always had a soft spot for those wheels. Along with the 3l stroker kit, Remus exhaust, leather interior & a whole pile of other stuff I'd love to get a set of these one day. Looking good man!

Biggest concern is keeping the dB level low enough so's not to aggravate / damage the 5 month olds hearing. Kinda knocks a lot of fun out of the equation but thats parenthood I guess. Has anyone used a Flowmaster for a backbox? Have heard a number of sweet sounding V8 systems but never a german 6. As mentioned I'd like to find a good Remus / Supersprint muffler but they're pretty rare secondhand Will run with straight pipes for the moment and see how it works out

Freight shouldn't be too bad, less than $150 via Mainfreight IIRC. Probably cheaper ways to go if the seller is willing to pallet & drop off at a depot for you
-
Look on the bright side. It'd make a great parts donor. I'm certain those wheels would fetch at least ten bucks each as scrap

Depending on your application there's a 3.15 E36 LSD going for a bloody good price as well on Tardme. Seller is a member on here too

Is it badged as an Alpina B3? Spied one in the Meadowbank Countdown carpark not so long ago. 325i & Alpina tags on the bootlid, B3 2.7 on the front grill. Looked hawt!!

Hmm, 75kg plus 7-odd litres of ATF will nudge it over 80kg. Too much for these old ams to gudie softly back to earth. Good thing the father-in-law has a gearbox jack eh! Good to know - forewarned is forearmed!

Still using the standard back box, so chop & weld it is then A Remus / Schinzel backbox would be nice at some stage but they're getting harder to find used for a reasonable price. Will have to reintroduce some more shh up the front when it happens I guess. Didn't think of the leaded fuel link, makes a lot of sense. Sweet, will go pick up the ramps this afternoon Edit: Just how heavy is the Jatco? 50kg? 95kg?? Looks big & ugly anyway!

5 buck says the owner has a propensity for white nylon tracksuits, roadcone orange nikes and chrome rim aviator sunnies while wearing his $350 baseball cap sideways. G. I'm off to scrub my eyeballs with bleach now!

How long does it take to remove prop shaft, exhaust centre section, auto trans, trans heat exchanger and diff from an E36? Have got a few hours today and most of tomorrow free, wondering if doing the prep work this weekend for the manual + LSD swap would be realistic on my own. Also, I'd like to delete the cats while the exhaust is out. If I were to replace them with straight pipe how much extra noise would it create? Bearing in mind the build year was '94 and it's done 170,000 km now I reckon they will be quite restrictive. Weren't the NZ new models supplied without cats? Or would I be better off running Coby resonators / center muffler section off another model? Last thing I want is more volume, am quite happy with the level it sits at currently. TIA!

It'll probably be the first copy of NZPC I've bought in 10+ years. Nice work!

C'mon Ray, of all the 36's that deserve to be in a collection that will be appreciated it's yours! Jerkoff. Hope the dork that did this gets involved in an accident and winds up being sold for spare parts himself.

Bloody hell, ya don't muck around eh!! Nice work This so needs to be road legal when complete!
-
Yup, not pretty but sure as hell sound good! One day

For the effort & expense involved I'd say you're better off doing a swap. There's heaps of info around on M50 / M52 -> E30, M52B28 seems to be the most popular option for power & value. M60 is doable but depends on how deep your pockets are. Or go all out and follow Hybrids lead, S50 is good no matter what body it's in!!

Is that a Schnitzel tip I spy? Good work, would love to score a Remus backbox for mine too some day
-
Finished the open - LSD center swap. Now on to the gearbox
-
Nice work man, that's a monster output! How many ft/lb is it producing?
-
No idea! But 413bhp sounds pretty f**king good to me!! How many torques? 20% is a fairly good rule of thumb from what I've seen about the place. I've heard pleanty of hearsay about different transmissions generating different %s of loss but nothing demonstrable.
