  1. washed car. drove it for many kays. efficiency is 11l/100kms... rather good for mixed driving . OBC is really useful, with the speed limit gong.
  2. Happy Birthday Joshybrid!
  3. Being seduced by French Machines. svelte, but driven the wrong way.

  4. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/renault/megane/auction-657312533.htm just look at that. gorgeous.
  5. ah e21s .... fond memories of sliding my late uncle's 323 carb fed bruiser on wet monsoon evenings....
  6. only if the car was a gravity fed carburetor, most cars have a positive displacement fuel pump that will pump a constant volume of fuel no matter the atmospheric pressure. you'd have less oxygen in the chambers so in fact, the performance is slightly reduced. as for it behaving like 100 octane, i'd say it is possible but barely.
  7. There will have to be some serious performance boosts needed for the v8 petrols to be relevant. O
  8. Greg, http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/peugeot/407/auction-656168499.htm what do you think of this? I plant to try and get it for 8k, so there will be some cash in the kitty for the repairs needed, like the electric seats, dents, dings etc.
  9. ^ and I have the stereo, OBC, and IHKA unit from that broken up M5.

  12. Brent has done cool "cool boxes" I think you can do too. get some heatproof plexi, create room in chamber.
  13. ... into ripping it apart for my Touring(freeing up cash as I type). it looks too good to serve as a donor. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/540i/auction-655689283.htm

It would have been rude of me to take pictures... through my window.... with her father standing there too.

  15. HAH! Cheers Mike! I was taking it out for a spin to see an E38 in Royal Oak. it's a SG import '00 735iL being sold by this lady.... too many niggles and idiosyncrasies to be worth $5k. plus a strange looking metal blob on one of the cylinder banks. :sigh:
  16. All back together. PPPP err fixed. 14.1l/100kms .... not too bad after the overheat incident. will be taking it for a drive to Royal Oak to see how it does on the highway
  17. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/540i/auction-654415684.htm look at that beaut.
  18. No, I do not have that in the car, Just the anhanger modul/trailer module mounted on the side wall. just about where your sub would sit once back together, so it is safe to say it didn't come with an amp? as i count just 4 (6 counting the tweeters) speakers in the car ,does this mean I can install a new headunit? (hard wiring a aux input is too much work plus would like blue tooth )
  19. How do I tell if my 525i has an external amp? a scan off the options show that the radio was a dealer fit option.
  20. I would have to say, having Supercats on my old Renault was less grippy than the Conti's I have tried on other ones (admittedly not OE either) but for what they are, they were good on fuel. Though, I have heard horror stories of Supercats too, where one tyre wore faster than others though the alignment was mint. Frankly, if it wears too quick, or doesn't "feel " right, go to the dealer.
