Did you managed to get the problem sorted? I realise yours a in-built unit but TomTom has issued a mandatory update to solve unable to get GPS fix problem for a bunch of their satnav units due to leap year. Instead of getting to the battery? Why not try get at the fuse?

My petrol cars warm up super fast, but the diesel takes longer though. My e46's needle leave the blue zone as I reverse out of the driveway and will reach the middle in two blocks (~500m). I can get warm-air from the vents as soon as I drive off. Gotta love instant heat in winter. My other previous Bimmers (e46 compact and e36) are slightly slower but not far off.

325 being 6 cyclinder takes more oil (6-7 litre depending) than its 4-cyclinder siblings. Their "normal" mechanics doing "budget" servicing only put 4-5 litre of oil in it is what I am guessing.

I hate how media play with words to make something sounded really bad. A $100mil recall, wtf? With thousands of parts going into a car these day, a couple bound to go wrong. Just a fact of life in modern car ownership.
