  1. The latest Super Cheap catalogue has a Turtle Wax branded of the same thing for around $35. (or was it Repco, can't remember exactly)
  2. In terms of fuel economy, my e90 320d does around 8.5l/100km in peak traffic (East Tamaki to Mt Wellington in the morning and back after work). It's not exactly economical compare to equivalent petrol. However, it will drop to low-6 (even high-5 if careful) in open road. If you do less than 20000km per year, you might be better off with a petrol due to difference in cost of registration, RUC, etc... despite better fuel economy and cheaper fuel at pump.
  3. For a daily, most BMW straight 6 are pretty good. e46 330i/Ci is nice (especially with a golf-tee mod). VW Golf R32 is awesome. So does the Alfa Romeo v6, maybe a 159 station wagan.
  4. ^ agreed. My 07 VW Polo had broken just about everything that can be broken in a car. Cam shaft, turbo sensor, aircon, radio (twice!), DPF, power steering (twice!) and the list goes on. Joke: the car was made in Spain, probably on a Friday afternoon.
  5. Oh god, just slow down and get on with it.
  6. as topic I've got it, anniversary edition, got all the cars that came with it. Manage to flip the Honda Jazz on the second race, which I think is an achievement on its own. Never been able to do that in GT5. Pix to prove it, so it's "flipping" good. Like the loading time being much faster than before. Can't wait to see the manufacturers finishing their VisionGT cars. Hopefully they will be a freebie as oppose to a paid DLC. Comments? What do you think of the game?
  7. Seems a lot of new cars have no temp gauge, Honda Jazz has a cold or hot light, pretty much all BMW from e87 onwards has none (probably a warning message when it boils). I do agree on the dead steering feel, seems to be a trademark on Toyota and probably anything with electric power steering.
  8. Probably easier to re-buy all 3 car-seats that will fit when your 3rd child comes along. Just make sure the width of the car seat is less than 20" for each and all of them (tough to find but they are out there, import from Europe if you have to, probably cheaper too). Where are you going to store the pram, the shopping and the rest of the baby paraphernalia?? Roofbox? I only got 1 child, 1 car seat and a single pram. At times I had to scratch my head as to where to put my shopping in my E90.
  9. Make sure you unplug your computer or other sensitive electronics when they switch the meter over. It could be a co-incidence, but when they switch over mine when I was not at home, couple of my AC adapters fried.

  11. Bought a Weber Family Q couple of month back as my first BBQ, loved it. Easy to setup and cooking area is surprisingly spacious. Got the optional hotplate which is half split with the grill.
  12. My little VW Polo diesel (1.4 3-cyclinder) just done 310k in 6 years. Not bad eh?
  13. What would you care if you died?
  14. About Larry Ellisons, didn't you know what ORACLE stands for? O ne R ich A *sehole C alled L arry E llisons
  15. Just got mine installed today. Before and after, both over Wi-Fi Before... After...
  16. Did this happen before the water pump change? Symptoms does point to an air-lock somewhere. How's the coolant level?
  17. Will take some getting used to as we all used the last version for number of years. This new one looks modern and seems to be easier to use. Thanks for all the hard work putting this together!
  18. The owner manual suggests to put the hand-brake on as you comes to a stop (but still moving) once in a while to remove the rust layer on the handbrake. This may help the holding ability of the handbrake.
  19. When park on hills, do this sequence... (as SN1TZR mentioned above) Stop, move to NEUTRAL, Hand brake on, foot off brake (& make sure car doesn't roll), foot on brake, move into PARK, DONE. Thud probably from the extra force needed to disengage that gearbox locking thing inside (whatever it is to stop the car rolling in PARK vs just NEUTRAL).

    Car Fails...

    Just can't let this stop...
  21. Well, from your list.... Let's see S2000: It's now around 1/4 of the original new price in 15 years Mini Cooper S: It's now around 1/3 of the original new price in 11 years Jazz: It's now half of original new price in 6 years By this calculation, S2000 is the best in holding its values. Ain't those really old diesel Nissan Patrol/ Mitsi Pajero kept their value best? 20+ years old and still sells for $15k+
