Any pics? Can't picture in my head what actual part. Can't take it to an engineers to get the machined out and something else inserted?
-
Yea that sh*t's scary as when it comes on over a gravel road!
-
Then can you explain why you're pushing for new customers with good deals and screwing over existing sky customers?

Hopefully it's not the sensor that's at fault now then. Have back to me today saying that the think it's the vanos that's causing the issue as its ment to have 8mm of motion but only has 4, so need to remove it and reposition or something.

Think I know the car, used to see him dropping his kids off at school the odd morning. Looked like a tidy car. Good find -
The Siemens sensor that was pulled out has the same part number as the new one so should be the right one. Think they were checking trigger wheel position yesterday/today so hopefully they can make something of that
-
Unsure. Was like that since I got it. Had a broke auto so undrivable untill I put manual in it and always ran bad. Did vanos seals but no difference
-
Is one from Milland so should be of reputable quality. Topran one I'm guessing. Would a dirty trigger wheel stop it picking up? Just because the oil was pretty lumpy they was in it but thought I had cleaned it all up pretty good.

So touring2.0, e36 328i single vanos, is at the shop trying to find this cam sensor fault. Has a brand new sensor, no difference, continuity to ecu is fine, have plugged sensor into oscilloscope but isn't showing any signal when cranked. What what cause the sensor not to pick anything up at all?
-
Touring2.0 still running like poo so took to another garage since my usual guys didn't seem interested. Comes up with cam sensor fault, replace sensor with new, comes up with cam sensor fault still. So he's checking pin outputs for correct data and continuity in loom I presume. Was ment to hear back this afternoon but never did. Tomorrow hopefully! Would be nice to have it running at 2.8l power instead of what feels like half that.

Pretty sure your arms will fall off before that bush comes out

I just use some threaded rod, some pipe and big washers to do mine. And some heat helps too. Get free off cuts of pipe from pitstop and the likes, a scrap yard to get some metal plate to cut into washers and a fastners shop for hi tensile rod and some extra long nuts. Cost you like $20

Awesome!

Sorry to hear, but no can do sorry. I'm sure Brent will have one tho

Have some style 10 type2's but are 7.5 and 42 offset I think

Vanos reassembled and installed. Idles a lot nicer and quieter but still not running right. When testing the vanos solenoid it wouldn't activate despite having 24ohms resistance. Might have to try a replacement.

Replaced rear diff bush and diff in the e46 this morning. Then removed and cleaned up vanos unit in touring2.0 ready to be reassembled with new seals and rattle kit and reinstalled.

Haha I'll remember that for next time! Pity my jack is a sill insert type so not much use on anything else

In Dunedin, but can ship no issues

Well there was a gap I reckon I could of Just squeezed out of between him and the car next to me, but the other half kept yelling at me to not try. Or the smash his window and take the brake off

Went out to the wings and wheels show in Mosgiel, spotted an isetta and a tidy e21. Then this a**hole in a commodore that decided it was a good idea to box me in my park. Had to go back in again to get the guy on the mic to call out the rego and get them to move. So after about half n hour was able to leave. Well, after waiting ten mins to get out on the street
