  1. One step forward, many steps back on the touring2.0. Alarm decided it would just start going off for no reason all of a sudden. Unplugged bonnet sensor since it wasn't contacting properly as many others have done, battery was a bit flat so charged it, Still does it. So is currently sitting unlocked in my drive untill I sort it. Finally got it back last week, didn't like the non genuine cam sensor and vanos didn't have enough movment. I thought I had the sprocket wound all the way round since the vanos unit came out but previous person hadn't done it properly last time and was gammied up so was hard to get it right round. So I thought I'd be good and give it a full tank of gas and actually be able to drive it. Bad idea! Leaks like a sift out the top somewhere. Another thing to sort once it's nearly empty I guess. Oh and still not running right, still well down on power. Feels like a vacuum leak, can hear a whistling noise as idle/low revs and stalls when stopped at lights some times, more so when ac is on. Which seems to be the only thing working great. Oyea, now "check brake lights" keeps coming up every second day even though they're all fine, and I've checked and cleaned all contacts.
  2. Had to go to Paul at millands to drop a dodgey sensor back and had his e30 outside, so had a look and a yarn abit it. My god is it immaculate!
  3. They're like the poke'mons, "gotta catch them all!"
  4. My offer for 400 as is without tyres still stands
  5. An e60 m5 in gore, an both an e60 m5 and a matching m6 yesterday.
  6. Did them in my refurb a while ago now. Wasn't too bad to remove cams, didn't use the tools but as described in the besain doing each cap bolt about half a turn at a time untill the pressure is released evenly so not to bend the cam since they're hollow
  7. Think I've got one, will have to confirm ratio but should be
  8. Red turning arrows. What's the actual point? No one is crossing the road, there's no one with a green arrow on other side, so why am I waiting!!!! Usually I just go through if main light is green. f**k em
  9. Any pics? Can't picture in my head what actual part. Can't take it to an engineers to get the machined out and something else inserted?
  10. Yea that sh*t's scary as when it comes on over a gravel road!
  11. Then can you explain why you're pushing for new customers with good deals and screwing over existing sky customers?
  12. Hopefully it's not the sensor that's at fault now then. Have back to me today saying that the think it's the vanos that's causing the issue as its ment to have 8mm of motion but only has 4, so need to remove it and reposition or something.
  13. Think I know the car, used to see him dropping his kids off at school the odd morning. Looked like a tidy car. Good find
  14. The Siemens sensor that was pulled out has the same part number as the new one so should be the right one. Think they were checking trigger wheel position yesterday/today so hopefully they can make something of that
  15. Unsure. Was like that since I got it. Had a broke auto so undrivable untill I put manual in it and always ran bad. Did vanos seals but no difference
  16. Is one from Milland so should be of reputable quality. Topran one I'm guessing. Would a dirty trigger wheel stop it picking up? Just because the oil was pretty lumpy they was in it but thought I had cleaned it all up pretty good.
  17. So touring2.0, e36 328i single vanos, is at the shop trying to find this cam sensor fault. Has a brand new sensor, no difference, continuity to ecu is fine, have plugged sensor into oscilloscope but isn't showing any signal when cranked. What what cause the sensor not to pick anything up at all?
  18. Touring2.0 still running like poo so took to another garage since my usual guys didn't seem interested. Comes up with cam sensor fault, replace sensor with new, comes up with cam sensor fault still. So he's checking pin outputs for correct data and continuity in loom I presume. Was ment to hear back this afternoon but never did. Tomorrow hopefully! Would be nice to have it running at 2.8l power instead of what feels like half that.
  19. Pretty sure your arms will fall off before that bush comes out
  20. I just use some threaded rod, some pipe and big washers to do mine. And some heat helps too. Get free off cuts of pipe from pitstop and the likes, a scrap yard to get some metal plate to cut into washers and a fastners shop for hi tensile rod and some extra long nuts. Cost you like $20
  21. Sorry to hear, but no can do sorry. I'm sure Brent will have one tho
  22. Have some style 10 type2's but are 7.5 and 42 offset I think
  23. Vanos reassembled and installed. Idles a lot nicer and quieter but still not running right. When testing the vanos solenoid it wouldn't activate despite having 24ohms resistance. Might have to try a replacement.
