  1. Spent some time on the new e46, swapped the tail lights out for the clear indicator facelift ones. Just need to buy some sides and front now since the other car had a broken one. Also after a good looking over noticed the intake boot had a tear where the icv comes off so pulled that off, what a mission that was! Checked the disa valve while I was there and was all good. Use some raychem over the tear to fix that problem and reassemble. Also noticed it was well over filled with oil, dispite being done by a local garage about two weeks ago. Ended up taking about two litres out to get to the full line. Also pulled those horrible chrome wheel arch trims off, looks much better! And test fitted some wheels I have lying around
  2. Yep that's it. Rang the local guy that wanted it to fix so he wouldn't bid and that he can buy it off me once I'm done with it. Only really want exhaust and wheels and wee bits and pieces.
  3. Was a good day, brought a replacement e46 for the written off e46. This time a 328i, super tidy! Drives way better than the old one. Brought sight unseen On trademe for 4.4 so was stoked when It showed up on how nice it was. He even delivered it! How's that for service and with a full tank!! Oh and brought the old e46 back for 600 Hopefully can start swapping the bits over I want in the next few weeks if I have time. Became self employed last week and am super busy so will see.
  4. So many options on trademe. Just been looking through for something for myself so surprised they can't find anything
  5. Hmmm, not a bad investment... But I don't think anyone would want to be seen being driven round in it
  6. Ok so heard back from insurence today.... Cars getting written off 6k plus to repair it apparently. So tomorrow will see if i can buy it back and either strip it myself for bits or just take a few bits I want sell as a wreak. Now to hunt for a replacement...
  7. Misses got T boned today in the 46 by some jap box. Some slez ran the red and plowed right into the rear quarter, spun the car 180. She's alright, car isn't that bad considering, but sill is pushed in and up in the door jam. Rear wheel has a sight wobble but repairable. Wait and see what the insurance man says next week I guess. Looks like it's had a dodgy repair there before looking at the bit of filler that's fallen off and the surface rust under it.
  8. M3 and 328i look about the same size apart from pipe diameter

    E36 M3 Project

Just needs some kanards for that front aero, big rear diffuser and boost
  10. Is just the under body chassis brace. Had to remove all Mine to drop exhaust. Just make sure you put it back on once the job is done or the front might feel a bit floppy
  11. Had to order mine from bmw, only took a week to show I think so not too bad. Unless you offer to pay for shipping to get them sooner?
  12. Looks like a tidy example and a good find in manual. Welcome
  13. You guys have all the fun! Look forward to progress and still smitten for the m3 touring
  14. Mine could possibly be forsale if the price is right, 96, NZ new 328i, 200kms, manuel converted with getrag 220 with m3 clutch and pressure plate, new lines and master cylinder, Msport kit, side moulds, m3 mirrors, lowered with volgard springs and bilsteins, full 18 button obc, black leather, centre arm rest, have an lsd centre for it as well
  15. Was a good day train-spotting yesterday. Followed a new 640d on the way to work, then an e90 sedan m3, then seen an e60 m5, two current gen m3's and an m5! All in my m3 while heading to oamaru for work, to what I thought was to change a light bulb so took that instead of the mighty mondeo. Was good to take her out for a decent drive. Also, got to job, light worked fine. Silly old people.

    E30 on Air

Sooo good! Like the old style roundels as well, nice touch
  17. Can't say I've seen this one around before, unless it's the same one that parks down by the oval?
  18. So think I fixed the fuel leak. Looked like the pump had been replaced and the hose that's on top was abit loose and the big plastic nut, so tightened them up. Cleaned up the fuel sitting the top and back together. Also alarm issue I think is caused by a dud battery in the siren unit since it didn't have much voltage and had been leaking, so will get a couple more and see how that goes
  19. Replaced yesterday so hopefully that fixes that issue. Found a small vac leak from the dipstick tube so sorted that yesterday using my awesome smoke test kit made from a Powerade bottle, a can of test smoke and an air compressor with lots of tape. The whistling noise is the oil/air seperator valve, does it just about idle for about 500rpm then goes away. Is that normal? Is brand new btw. Still does its stalling thing. Does it every time reversing into my drive, even when in neutral just rolling backwards into it which is the weird part. Don't know if it's when I'm applying the brakes that's making it stall or not. Seems really weird. Icv needed cleaned out maybe? Not opening or shutting correctly?
  20. Brought two sets from them now. Been Good as
  21. One step forward, many steps back on the touring2.0. Alarm decided it would just start going off for no reason all of a sudden. Unplugged bonnet sensor since it wasn't contacting properly as many others have done, battery was a bit flat so charged it, Still does it. So is currently sitting unlocked in my drive untill I sort it. Finally got it back last week, didn't like the non genuine cam sensor and vanos didn't have enough movment. I thought I had the sprocket wound all the way round since the vanos unit came out but previous person hadn't done it properly last time and was gammied up so was hard to get it right round. So I thought I'd be good and give it a full tank of gas and actually be able to drive it. Bad idea! Leaks like a sift out the top somewhere. Another thing to sort once it's nearly empty I guess. Oh and still not running right, still well down on power. Feels like a vacuum leak, can hear a whistling noise as idle/low revs and stalls when stopped at lights some times, more so when ac is on. Which seems to be the only thing working great. Oyea, now "check brake lights" keeps coming up every second day even though they're all fine, and I've checked and cleaned all contacts.
  22. Had to go to Paul at millands to drop a dodgey sensor back and had his e30 outside, so had a look and a yarn abit it. My god is it immaculate!
  23. They're like the poke'mons, "gotta catch them all!"
