  1. What'd I do to my e60 recently? I washed it - quickly - on Sunday morning. Now that we've got Auckland weather (raining-all-the-time), it's beading nicely. And I've been persevering in my attempt to have an inept courier company deliver, so that I can proceed with suspension replacement. UPS have changed (at least in Wellington) from Fliway, to Post Haste/Castle Parcels. Just when you thought it couldn't get worse. With Fliway, all it took was a call to find out where it was (they didn't appear to have any tracking systems connected to update your tracker), and all was good. They were very obliging. The new crowd are a shambles, like the sort of thing you'd see in a 1990's Customer Service video on *how not to do it*. I keep expecting to hear John Cleese on the line saying "now then, would you have approached this situation differently? Let's pause while we review how to make a satisfied customer". Hopefully it'll arrive today, install tomorrow. For a change, I'm not doing it myself on my mate's driveway.
  2. best you show us some images of your fleet then! Welcome along to the forum. If you're finding Pelican Parts "back to the 90's" navigation sub-par, you should find FCP Euro a breeze.
  3. @raewyn22 you sellin', then?
  4. people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones! Mercedes drivers all ticked the "remove indicators" option! /stereotyping mode off
  5. well spotted! that's an inter-dimensional portal, you need special coding to activate it though. It's a "rare option".
  6. lets see, Fred Wong: joined 30 october (two intro posts) car for sale 6 november (three sales posts) 5 posts in total hasn't visited since late Dec. I'd say "no" (prolly sold), and he's probably not coming back. Still, you could message him. Mind you, he is following this topic, so he'll be getting message notifications.
  7. yeah well done Colin, you'll have it whipped into shape in no time.
  8. this is all I could find on google; a for sale ad on a Russion e90 forum (with thanks toe90club.ru), the listing is for "BBS RC300 из магниевого сплава в парметрах 8,5J et 13 18" 5х120". You've decided the e60 is for you, Paul? Gabe, I hope these images help your for sale thread.
  9. similar issues with e60 drains noted. remediation is centred around cleaning the drains out as Brent mentioned (long length of weed-whacker wire, where compressed air unavailable), and drilling out the bottom bung (inside the arch, above the inside of the wheel well liner) so that it's less likely to clog-up, in future. We meet up from time to time in Wellington, look (and maybe subscribe) to the Meetings room for Wellymeets. Welcome to the forum, and I trust you get a suitable solution.

    Dieselgate and VAG

sadly "corporate responsibility" is a bit of an oxymoron, it's proving to be a noble marketing term at least. People seem to have forgotten the lawsuits and deaths associated with Chrysler and Jeep products (or rather, attributed to - and successfully prosecuted) in the 80's and 90's, dodgy seatbelts, safety failures. Runaway Toyotas? I'd not heard of it, figured it was a reference to their sales figures! #; )
  11. polish and double wax job done, tyres done with blacking gel. Next time, black trim, glass, and then on to the interior.
  12. today, I've spent 3 hours just cleaning it. Thorough clean, including all the door jambs and accumulated grime, wheels, a light go-over under-bonnet. Taking a lunch break before claybar, polish, wax, and do the black stuff. Going to use masking tape this time. Wish me luck. I think the interior valet might wait until next weekend. Going to need to use this next week to carry 4 more lengths of fibrous plaster cornice before I sell it. It's damned useful and versatile, this wagon. At this rate I'll sell it, and find I need to replace it with an e39 Touring!
  13. Mrs Olaf was just saying "it's good having a spare car, for when one's in the shop" (with reference to the Volvo we're about to sell). Wow, this would be ideal! Hope you get it, Colin.
  14. HI Charles, try Brent at BMWorld and Ray at Hell BM Also there are a few e60's being wrecked on TradeMe, they may have what you're looking for. Hope that helps
  15. yeah man, now I need to go and buy an e60 from Giltrap Prestige. So that I can get a badge for mine.
  16. I'm betting @TermiPeteNZ wishes his had one of those. #; )
  17. sorry mate, memory's failing me at the moment. I think the most appropriate thing to do would be to build a car around it. Think space frame, mid-engined behind the driver... like a midlana, but not that wide (no tranverse mounting here).
  18. can you beleive it? all the options, different S motors, M3, M5, simple V8's, M motors.... and here's the GRANDADDY! - S85B50A. - 5.0 Litre V10. 90 degree bank angle, 507 hp (378 kW) @ 7750rpm/520 N·m (384 lb·ft) torque @ 6100rpm - LESS ACCESSORIES. LONG BLOCK. - DONOR CAR DONE 213000KM. And under $7k by the looks!
  19. so the new gearbox is patchy, and you're sending the old one off for rebuild, then?
  20. you did that on Sunday afternoon after getting home from the Roadie? awesome! How's the new gearbox?
  21. I didn't get that many pics of my e60 specifically; here it is with @skidz 530i hosted on flickr. all rights reserved. Assimilated. whaddya think - should I go for the blacked-out grille, with chrome surround?
  22. here's the link to a very useful compendium of e60 info for considerations of maintenance or purchase, from Bimmerfest. So you just bought an e60
  23. Welcome, Ben. Wow, Giz was a beauty, those crumple zones certainly did the job. Gotta be happy the fireies didnt need to cut you out. Looking forward to seeing pics of your new 130i. Do take a look at the 'meetings' room/threads, you can click 'follow' so you never miss a local meet. The Auckland crowd get together pretty frequently.
