Is This Where The E30 Market Is Now..?
Sammo replied to E30 325i Rag-Top's topic in TradeMe discussions
$1 reserve M325i? https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-3716345687.htm WBAAA12050AE52265 Specs seem to check out - although this is interesting: “At some point in it's life it has had a body swap and therefore sunroof is gone” -
@KwS might look at that if I respray (most or all of it) it next year

Possibly, I thought it seemed thick enough. Just an extra step at end of the day I don’t need - E30 is washed probably 2-3 times a month and is covered in Carpro Hydro2 at all times.
-
I just find it’s quite a bit of faffing around for a car gets kept clean in general (E30). And then when I used it on the absolutely filthy white F31 it’s didn’t really do enough to bother setting up the power washer etc. Will stick to simple two bucket wash.

Tried to love the snowfoam but best thing about it is the pictures / novelty. Anyone in AKL want a free Karcher adaptor and 80% of a big 2.5 litre bottle of Autoglym Polar Blast foam? Pick up Beach Haven.

And as a general update, car has been great - seems to have settled in at 6.5L/100km for our mixed (mainly urban and motorway) driving. Reckon it could do 1000 a tank on a run comfortably though. Got some ‘whiter’ fog light bulbs to install to better match headlights and still need to get around to doing some Bimmercode coding but need to temporarily disable the carplay module first (ugh). I drive my E30 75% of the time but it certainly makes this thing seem like a Rolls Royce!

Went for a Roadtop unit - has been very good and installation instructions were far better than expected. https://www.ebay.com/itm/384217581064

Definitely one of BMWs best ever fabric

F22 M235i 19” Wheel size and ride. Is it good or bad?
Sammo replied to iShimy's topic in Wheels & Tyres
That isn't a lot of sidewall TBH and would probably want to be lowered for 19's to look good on an F22. I would go 18's - they look good on the chassis. $4250ish NZD inc duties plus tyres 🤔 -
Is This Where The E30 Market Is Now..?

This was for sale at Sunday Drive for some time, appears to have been traded to another dealer to have a crack. Lovely car and I personally like (some of the) the mods (Evo bits) - I suspect however the clientele who actually has $100k plus to spend on an old BMW would be wanting something more original. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3710609677?bof=YFwVpH6k -
Got a new master and slave cyclinder and back shifting better than before. I will consider myself lucky 😎 Just need to get an AA plus membership now as the Tow cost almost as much as the repair 😬

This thing is coming together real nice!! Modern classic for sure

@Vass For the E46 I went with X8R in the UK due to Besian's crazy shipping. Also - are S50 seals the same for M54?
-
Possibly, will hopefully know this afternoon - if not hydraulic (wishful thinking perhaps) Mechanics first thought was maybe clutch fork. Gut feel is I'll be preparing a for a fair few 'while you're in there' things

Parcel tray should be simple enough - backseat may be a bit more fun if its soaked through the foam. I would pull it out, shampoo and rinse it through then dry in the sun for a day or so. If need be the ozone generators are what car yards use to get 'integrated' aromas out

Fingers crossed, just seems it won’t disengage. It was a nice steady pace, nothing silly but did manage to wind it out a few times (joys of low power) Will definitely revisit this road in drier conditions.

I was having good fun following a G80 M3 - car was driving fantastic but I miss timed a shift around redline / just after the limiter and couldn’t change gear… Seems clutch pedal does nothing - fluid reservoir looked fine. Car could take off (lurch off with ignition) in 1st and ease into 2nd and 3rd which got me the last 20km or so to Huntly then got a pricey tow to my mechanic… Will find out tomorrow!

Thanks! Long time planning, so great to see it come to fruition!

BIG milestone - Interior is now done: Full retrim in OEM BMW Anthrazit Uberkaro and matching OEM bolster fabric Fresh vinyl on outer bolsters, seat backs + door cards. Rear headrests, Mtech badges, refinished interior plastics, shampooed carpets and new mats. Fully rebuilt front seats - repaired and welded frames / new seat shocks / clips / fresh foam - feel like new seats. The textures and tones in the flesh look absolutely fantastic and like it was always this way - very happy. Might get my shift / gear boot done in genuine Uberkaro to match (they are reproduction Uberkaro at the moment and are a cooler grey) will likely get rear seat Mtech badges and need a new drivers door handle surround as well to finish off.

After 5.5 weeks wallowing around in a clapped out comfort seat and 3 weeks without a front sway bar, can’t wait for the weekend to get my rebuilt and reupholstered sport seats in and my 22mm sway bar with new poly bushings and billet mounts… Looking forward to driving around corners again.

No idea how I missed the auto! Eww

Wouldn't have thought this colour would work but I really like this. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/other/listing/3700994966 Seems that nice Orange one has sold as well - such cool little cars, would love one one day but doubt they would be anywhere as usable as an E30.
-
Very nice! And excellent, less common colour too. Would be a perfect daily with an E30

Good to hear - that was the technique that seems to be popular - did the new poly bush push in by hand?
