Awesome Karl! Love your taste in cars.

Curious, where did you have your alignment done - good experience?
-
Welcome Bill. Nice choice of BMW!
-
Haha, I wish, just on jack stands unfortunately. Seems to work well though

Hey Dave, You don't have to, but I would recommend it personally, but I am sure its doable. Mine were OEM BMW ones for the subframe, pocket reinfrcements were from AKG Motorsport from USA, quite reasonably priced. I'd definitely do both at the same time, perhaps give Ray a call, I was going to get him to do some of this work but I decided to get it done in my own time slowly.

Update - 10.3.14 Finally been getting on with repairing the chassis subframe mounting point cracks appearing. Drilled out and welded up the cracks, and installed the M3 reinforcement plates. I also installed the RTA mounting reinforcements having noticed small cracks appearing in the forward weld. This is just after welding and trimming. Currently sealing the metal work up with various paints and body sealers. I also installed the rear sway bar reinforcement plates

Exciting stuff, this will make for a very good build, I shall follow with interest.

G'day guys, I've been looking around for a suitable product to aid in pressing in my rear end suspension bushes, namely for the subframe etc, is there any particular lubricant for assembly I should be using - one thats readily available? From what I gather it should be water based, with no solvents, silicones or petroleum bases. Cheers

Imagine if all that effort was applied to something useful
-
Sweet, that will look great! Havent given it any thought actually haha, given I have no rear end on the car It hasnt been a priority. I should prob do something though!
-
Looking ever sweeter! Do I need to put stickers on my car for the Gumboot Rally??
-
I'm doing this to my E36 as we speak! But god lord, that is so clean, quite unbelievably so!
-
But driving up that way makes it an event as such
-
+1 He & his team offer an invaluable service. I'm still wrapped about half the parts I've scored from his yard, though I forget most of them there's been that many!
-
CAD mock up of a rear strut & subframe hard point brace for my coupé... I think it shall do the trick Strut attachments still need work.
-
Nasty cracks in the rear upper section of the subframe mount hard points, time for some extra Mike style OCD upper reinforcements!
-
I was going to hit you up about these rims haha. They look like 18s to me.
-
Those lights are so pretty at night.
-
Ive done my filter on my Toyota, its not the most fun job and quite messy! For what its worth I'd pay someone to do it unless you do 95% of your car work usualy
-
Prob done lots of highway miles which is always a good thing. Worth a look!
-
That is so awful. I guess it's one reason to avoid parking on the Road where possible.
-
I think it looks excellent.
-
Looking good. Is lowering it, say an inch on the cards? and M-tec front bumper?
-
MMMM that E39 tire well is dying to be cut out in an M5 like way ready for a true dual exhaust of some design. Do it Joooles!
