I'd say Sunwoo probably forgot to tell us a few things...

One vacuum flap, what an interesting design.

Just read through all this! What a mission, but at least it all came to a head and you sorted it out. Well done, I guess this is part off the fun owning a once high end car nearly 20 years later!
-
Yeah I know, annoying ain't it! I suggested that to someone with a 540i, but that fuel tank arrangement kinda kills that idea.

Cheers guys, I think its definitely going to sound the business over the RS4 mufflers. Yeah Andy, the rear tyre well went middle of 2012 haha, I've had the RS4 mufflers up under there for the a year or so and recently test fitted new mounts for this wide muffler, looks like it will tuck up there nicely.

I got bored so test fitted the V8 vantage muffler with some pipe sections and alloy tape, worked well! For a bit anyway... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3vf6cyw52w

Looks good! Clean and simple Pretty sure I've seen you driving it around Onehunga, though maybe not there is another similar one on here...

The all-new BMW 2 Series Coupe – it’s almost here!

What's up with this blue brake calliper thing too... looks like a new mod will be to get out a black can of high temp spray paint... -
Hahahah, I thought what is this 'racist' thread title about. Easy typo
-
Nice! I quite like the finish they have, almost that orange peel look

I don't have the expertise or tools for diff work. I am wanting a full rebuilt, new seals and bearings Also the ring gear and pinion changed from 3.15 to 4.27, clearly this requires the shims to be selected correctly for the application - I job Id rather pay someone to do! Where a good trusted place in Auckland I can take the diff to? Cheers in advance.
-
Very excite! I'd be happy to help if you need any assistance with the install

Quite cool. Though it does have a cheap look in certain parts, I wonder if it will have that low cost feel like the 1 series did when they came out.. -
Damn, I was going to buy a 4 series coupe soon, now I am spoilt for choice with a 4 door variant... but then the 3 series 4 door variant is also an option, and so is the 5 series sedan, or maybe even the X3 could be worth a look for that extra off road clearance even though I'll never be taking it out of Auckland. Suggestions??

I was just looking at that. VERY nice, but when you can get an E39 M5 for 20-30k easily it does seem a little off price wise... ? Then again it is a manual E34 V8 which makes it rather rare and cool. I would have price it more around the 12.5-15.0k range with how much cheaper automatic 540is go for. I mean mint 100,000km auto ones aged between 1994-1996 E34s struggle to sell for 10k..

Basically....

A good move, M6Xs with flaking cam covers are enough to spoil any ones day.

Good work man. Yeah it's like that but what fun is a perfect car? Boring! So due to the discovery tonight I just went OCD and ordered some parts tonight, rear subframe rebuild kit basically, including reinforcement plates, exciting.
-
Ahhhh! first subframe cracks appearing, Left side rear mount. Oh well, a good excuse to NOT drive it for a change, get it repaired when I do the exhaust system welding. It will also give me the chance to swap in the upgraded 328i subframe assembly & suspension

Interesting to hear your thoughts guys! The Alfa 159 3.2 manual would be an interesting one, I sense a test drive sooner or later - though the questionable reliability of those is up in the air... but that may just be a trade off. Otherwise from experience all these make rather pleasant sounds, aren't expensive and are fairly reliable 540i E34 or E39 Most of the sixes in the E3X ranges... though there are a lot of variations of M50-M52-M54 exhausts so it's a varied choice but we all know the gist of their noise. Peugeot or Citroen with a manual V6 even? Probably too much of a headache such cars. Subaru flat 6 Legacy 3.0R? ehhh Hmmmm I need to get out a bit more and test some cars I think.

While not an SMG by any stretch I manualised my 5 speed auto and I find it really workable in various situations when I want more revs and full control for whatever reason, then flick it into auto mode and just cruise. Ive done 8500kms and its still running without a fault.
-
Mmm engine please.

Mmm those V8s sure are nice. I was thinking those Alfas... but yeah they are what they are. Yeah I had one a few years ago, very awesome noise, I rather miss the stock noises they made in the cabin, especially the E34
