  1. I usually just keep prices per package around the 400 mark, or ask for the pricing to be reduced slightly if its in the 400-500 mark. Not much fun in adding 15%+ to the cost of an otherwise good deal.
  2. Well I used a new VDO temp gauge & sender to replace the old one so now it reads accurately, not just cold-warm-hot. At idle speeds after a drive with the electric fan on full the coolant temp dropped to around 75 degrees according to the sender resistance and an infra red thermometer. For the tach I fitted a Dakota Digital tachometer signal converter, such an awesome device. I am also using one of the negative coil signal outputs to cut the fuel relay when the engine dies. Heh M3 dash. I might actually look at that one day. Would be handy to have an in-dash oil temp gauge... would be just a matter of getting the correct ohm value sender to wire in & fit into the sump....
  3. Got the Temperature and RPM gauges working. Clip
  4. OEM is the only way to go. Unless you have done such work before I would recommend taking it to a dealer.
  5. Haha yeah, I need to do the same. Tricky job, but a vital correction.

    My Rebuild

    Good old Nissan power eh!
  7. I used the pipe cap method, worked a treat (but at least I had the earlier bushings) If you want to stiffen up the rear, I think it's worth upgrading the RTAB with Powerflex urethane ones + the Vorshlag limiter spacers. I did that 18 months ago and it's been awesome ever since, no more sloppy rear end. A touch harsh on our crappier roads, but not that bad.
  8. Nice string of cars Dean. Welcome aboard the forum.
  9. I think it falls into the same category as painting a kidney grill black all round.
  10. Looks like your engine is dirty?

    BMW zagato

Note how the bonnet line is shaped around the grille etc... very nice touch! Makes a nice smoother shape compared most of the new range models were it just stretches across the hood interrupting the lines. I can't fathom why the designers didn't bother to hide it.
  12. An E46 M3 convertible only 1310kg?

    BMW zagato

    Looks rather fun & quirky.
  14. I've just had my panel & paint shop remove my tyre well for the dual exhaust i planned. No problem! Just another thing I'm including in the certification.

    M50B20 build

    Good stuff! Best of luck!
  16. Modding is synonymous with ruining in many cases.
  17. Sadly its become too much about buying the badge rather than a good BMW with the right engine and the options you actually want. It's certainly ruined the exclusivity of the BMW that once existed.
  18. Accidentally, I once left one of my cars Idling for an hour or so. (LS400) It was so quiet I forgot I had not turned it off until I saw vapour coming out of the exhaust blowing in the wind! Bet that did no good for the engine internals!!
  19. What is wrong with a Lexus engine? I have one. It's lovely.
  20. I think one would be better off removing the injectors and having them professionally cleaned.
  21. Hmmm don't over capitalize on them! Perhaps turn one into a better one, and scrap the other. That is what I would do.
  22. Yeah I know right. I might try a good ground again, I've tried it with a makeshift ground wire, which didn't seem to do anything but it could had been a poor connection. .. I'm also wondering if I didn't hook up a ground wire from the dash cluster.... who knows, I think I will have to run through things step by step. Then again it could be a fault with the dash cluster itself... as now that I recall a few times in my E36 with the M50 it would get stuck at about 1/4 temp and with a tap on the top of the dash start rising again... Haha that bloody bumper, I've kept putting painting it off and off... it's at the end of my priorities list right now.
  23. Take a look at this video I made with some narration, it might help to paint a better picture.... Youtube Link
