I saw a Phaeton a month ago, they are like a huge Passat/Audi S8. Distinctive, but only to someone that knows that they are. Anyone with the money to buy a large saloon is going to go for a Merc, BMW, Jag or Audi first though.

Hmm so really it's just the cooling systems that are the main thing to take a note of. I guess if you're determined enough you could replace most if not all the plastic parts with alloy/brass ones, I've seen high performance metal water pumps around for M52s so would imagine you could get them for the M62. Depends how extreme you want to go I guess. .

I saw a fake M5 today Silver, with quad exhausts, that were actually bent, and not sitting right which is when I was like... M5... I dont think so, then the driver took off quicky from the lights... sure enough it was a six. Probably a 523i telling by how slow it was off the line Blew a bit of nasty smelling smoke too!

Hmm could be a stuffed starter Could also be a starter motor relay... check those first.

How is it on gas? It's a 1980s designed 3.5 six.... think about it. Nice example though, aside from the non OEM wheels. Rare to see one with electric M-spec seats! Seems like good value if it's in as good a condition the pictures show.
