  1. Thats so cool. Nice project for someone.
  2. They really don't add much from what I've seen unless running an aftermarket computer and cams adjusted to specs that suit the ITBs. A lot of coin for small gains. But they sound good. I've got the 3UZ in my car, and like most modern v8s has the dual length intake manifold for tuned torque gains in the low to mid range. Makes quite a noticeable difference, originally my vacuum solenoid for the internal butter fly valves was faulty so wasn't working for a few months until I noticed the issue.
  3. Relative. These things are a nightmare. Anyone that genuinely wants a Sedan luxo barge (true market buyers) just buys new models every few years so these end up rather unwanted, especially in their old age. Can buy a Merc, Lexus or Audi V8 sedan for similar money for the year so it's just the usual depreciation
  4. Well that's at the other end of photoshop pictures, polar opposite. Cellphone camera pics are usually just lazy and usually of 1 angle of the car with no interior pics. Useless! Im talking about digital camera 20 high res pics, front, side, rear, interior, boot, engine, issues photographed etc - free from filters, enhancements or whatever else. That is how a car for sale should be shown. Not with arty, calendar style pics.
  5. I don't agree with this, as it hides the reality of how a car looks in person. Might fool some people, bud I'd rather see large raw pictures of the car to make a judgement if it's worth looking at or not.
  6. Would pay 20k if it was FULLY restored, ie rebuilt suspension, engine and trans.
  7. Eventually these sellers realise there isn't a big market for a 11.5k old Limo that's 20 years old, Will have to drop it two or three thousand and then they may find someone quirky enough to buy such a car. That advertising with the mags is pathetic & misleading though. LOOK, BBSs on a 750il! But sorry, comes with 16s... and I'm still asking top dollar.. pfft.
  8. Did BMW put their hand up and say they f**ked the design / parts use with these engines?

    Vinyl Wrap

hahaha - not after carbon! Just after some satin or gloss black for the roof. Cheapest solution to stop the paint clear coat falling off. Paint guy I use said I'd have to paint the side rear 1/4s too because of the lack of a join point, and it would look a bit crap just doing a fade through on the rear pillars. I intend to get a lot of panel work done in due course so this is just a temporary thing.
  10. Haha, yes, 1UZs are dead to me. That's why I put a 3UZ in my Soarer I currently have. Would love to put one in an E46 touring some day. Just such a dependable package I know how to work with (over M and N series V8s or expensive S62) PS, Euro V12

    Vinyl Wrap

In need of a small amount of vinyl wrap, (1.5m x 1.5m) Wondering if anyone here knows a good supplier that sells it by the length? I know there are wrap shops, but some of those don't sell their material unless you get them to install it.
  12. Beautiful example. They are such a timeless shape. Makes me want one to spoil with a Toyota V8 under the hood.
  13. I'd just look for a similar but better condition 728i to come up for sale. Could spend a small fortune trying to fix up the issues yours has.
  14. I know right, like 101 tacky mods. Also weird the ignition leads are now blue, I put brand new toyota ones in it only 4 years ago. They last the best part of 15 years+
  15. Thank you Nathan, It's been hard to get over. Jk Tbh, I suddenly got bored of the car at the time and knew the rare hydraulic suspension Soarer I have now was coming up for sale so put the two together and sold the E36 for 8k, not sure why the owner thinks he can get 11k for it, but anyway.
  16. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1368369290&permanent=0 As some of you may know I originally put the V8 in this car. Sadly not the same as it once was. Been nearly 3 years after I sold it. I de-spec'd it a lot before I sold it, but it was still a lot nicer than how it is now. Always hurts seeing old project cars after you sell them! When I had it: Ughhhhh
  17. Very nice. I like the coupes a lot
  18. Doug DeMuro is pretty sharp, I like his stuff most of the time, but given it's opinion you either agree or don't. That said, I found his drooling rave over the new Ford GT V6 a bit cringe worthy. It was as though he received a blank cheque from a Ford dealer to give the car a glowing review, usually he's more critical.
  19. That seems over priced considering kms. I've driven one of these in manual, quite quick but not that memorable or soulful. Better off with a 335i coupe that's better looking, longer wheel base and uses more quality components inside.
  20. Surprised he hasn't put in his 2 cents here
  21. Cool machine, but like most E34s little rough around the edges.
  22. Good old 1GZ V12. Who was it working on that? I was considering putting one into a Soarer a while back, but canned that idea and bough my rare active suspension Soarer instead. They need an external or dry sump setup due to the location of the chain driven pump vs steering rack so costly from the get go. A nice sounding engine though, quite a few 1GZ conversions floating around NZ as of late.
