  1. Beautiful M5, looked glorious Newmarket Viaduct at about 7.30pm Anyone here??
  2. Do these change the intake tone / noise much?
  3. E9s are possibly one of the best looking BMWs of all time.
  4. Nice example. Would want to have a close look at the service history though.
  5. I love how far it's been driven, it's pretty impressive!
  6. Hurray, positive comments ^^^ At least the car exists, who cares if its not perfect, Ray & co built it and if they didn't NZ would have such a creation. I know if I saw it drive down the road I'd smile and not feel the need to poke fun that a panel may require a $300 respray & panel adjustment on one fender.
  7. Basically the parts corners can be cut to reduce costs, or parts more compromised by environmental regulations.
  8. Has to be a toll sensor from a third party, dealer option or similar. Removed from an E46 in Japan.
  9. From my own experiences I was thinking about what pros and cons BMW models have. Sometimes these are things you can only pick up on after owning them. Without getting super wordy, make a list of the pros and cons you've personally with your BMW experience! E36 Coupe, Pros Body shape, longer hood etc Weight, not too heavy Fun to drive from factory, more so with M3 suspension parts Easy to work on E36 Coupe, Cons Water getting under the carpets Rear subframe cracks Interior door panels failed Roof lining needs fixing Your turn!
  10. That's such a nice car. Good package!
  11. This shitty soarer on trade me takes the mould cake!
  12. Glass break sensor? Prob factory toll booth sensor though, surely.
  13. Eh don't get in twist because you cheaped out and got the iffy 4 door M3
  14. Only good E36 is the Coupe or Vert in M3 or M sport spec. 4 doors and wagons are pretty iffy.
  15. Kind of click baity. That guy is a wee bit full of himself too, he's ok I suppose though. Does have a point, but it's kinda looking at that sector of worst case examples, the worst looked after examples. Unfortunately BMWs do have faults, and it's just made worst by neglect, lack of servicing and poor mechanical sympathy. One aspect that is worth considering, many buy BMWs, M cars particularly to rev and drive hard, meaning a tougher life, Toyota Corrollas are not subjected to the same treatment, making for a much easier, long boring life. A simplistic view, but certainly a factor, aside from the inherent engine stress levels, HP/Liter and peak rpms etc that play another part.
  16. 2070kg spec'd weight for 750iLs haha. 322hp / 490nm from the M73 156hp / Tonne 236nm / Tonne.

  18. Interestingly, theres been quite a lot of negative facebook commentary about the price the current owner is asking. I think people forget it takes killing / using a damaged M3 to make one of these, So automatically it's at least 25k worth going by regular M3 coupe prices. A decent E46 late model touring is generally close to 10k worth, rougher ones are cheaper of course. Then you have the time to sort the M3 body panels and paint them, that looked to be very well done and would have cost a fair bit of coin if you were to try replicate it. Electrics, coding, and fine tuning of everything transferred over to the touring chassis isn't a 5 minute job, especially to get everything working like it's a factory car. Other stuff like the physical work changing parts, subframe work, exhaust work, all the suspension installed, certification too. You need to have experience with BMWs to do such a build properly, not many people in the country could pull it off. It's up to the owner to find the price they want anyway, given the above I think he'd get close to the asking price with the right buyer that sees it for what it is.
  19. Michael.

    We bought a Baur

Awesome. Be sure to bring it to the next Penrose meet!
  20. True I suppose it depends how long it takes then, I'm used to spending a few hours overhauling Toyota dashes with faults. Haven't seen E39 ones broken down to their basic parts, but I know they are very different.
  21. $100 wouldn't be enough for a pixel repair, $200-300 would be more relative for an electronics tech to sort such. Disassembly, reassembly, parts, time to do the fix and testing would take at least a few hours if you're doing it properly
  22. Pretty crap, non stainless perforation. Looks like no expansion joints either. But hayyy its ACs, must be awesome
  23. Would be good to see this sorted out properly Suspension and cosmetically, especially.
