    E36

I bought another car and neglected my E36, naturally it has responded by giving me the first grief in 2.5 years. The battery went flat, I took it out, charged it, put it back in, worked once. Had the AA out today (their battery), they jump started it and checked the load/charging etc which apparently is fine, but he said I need a bigger charger which he is bringing round to charge the battery properly. In the meantime, the abs light is now on and the drivers door window won't go up all the way, it stops about 45mm from fully closed, goes up and down fine apart from that. So, abs light on and window not behaving, any ideas? It's a 328i manual coupe if that makes any difference. Thanks.
  3. fast car new wof short shifter kit rear exhaust boxes removed sounds sweet tv goes when it wants to Great write up. $22k no reserve, now $24k starting bid.
  4. This was for sale at a yard in Hamilton, sold about 6 months ago (hence why the rego and warrant have just expired), their asking price was $11,995 fyi.

So then maybe the business is not sustainable?I have no qualms with people making a living or a profit, everyone has to. But in excess of 100% over retail is a joke and I believe some of it at least is due to the dominance of the Euro market in NZ being controlled by one entity. Giltrap didn't get that fat eating takeaway chicken. It's not just BMW, I have a friend who imported an RS5 that saved over $70k and he paid full retail.
  7. Let me rephrase it. "I see you owe $200, would you like to make an arrangement to pay this off now, or shall I come and get your tv/stereo/microwave/boat/car/tractor" etc.
  8. As Nikita says, that's an unusual response, they want you to pay it back as it's usually not worth what you paid for it originally. I have a good friend who does repossessions, his first approach is always a phone call to remind and try to get the payments sorted. Actual repossession is the last straw. They had all of your contact details, go for all of the fees wiped.

A wholesale and marketing division owned by whom?
  10. I thought Gerry Hodges had one, or is his another limited edition?

  12. A friend has an E46, no cup holders, what's the best solution. Interior is tan leather if that helps. And for the same car, best bluetooth solution, Dynavin?
  13. Thought we had a buyers guide for these somewhere but can't find it in a search. I had a look at one and it had a shimmy through the wheel at about 85km/h, is this the same problem as the E34, bushes? The drivers door mirror is delaminating also (the glass), easy/cheap repair? It will go through a pre purchase check if I go ahead, just curious about those two items.

As a reference, there was a tidy looking nz new 98 or 99 528i done 177kms at the car fair last week for 4500ono. Leather etc, looked well looked after.
  15. I like the look of the 7, but compared with what's on the market, I think it's still a wee bit much for what it is. Not sure though. And the blue leather? I guess you can get used to anything. I can't see why a 740 should be more expensive than a 540 to maintain, anyone differ on this? Either would be more than big enough. And that 2002 540 looked like good value.
  16. An FT86. Rear 3/4 angle really does look mini Ferrari.
  17. I'm looking around for something new as a family car. These have caught my eye, what obvious problems are there other than cooling system woes, budget to eliminate that problem? Trans? I know of at least one that was rebuilt for $7-8k at relatively low kms. That doesn't appeal, regular problem? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=508363363 http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=508642577 http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=508642861 I think this is well over priced for a 13/14 year old car even if it has low kms, thoughts? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=508642861 http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=510367220 I can't find a single positive review for these anywhere, anyone? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=510987393 I won't bore you with the non BM stuff, look forward to comments.
  18. I was at Turners today, watched 32 cars go through. 2 sold. The rest were no bids, or low bids and there were some decent cars. Even the 2 that sold were relatively cheap. Looked like a buyers market.
  19. Back on TM Glenn. Was on my watch list, now you have me curious.
  20. If they do, I have a set of bottle caps in tidy condition with tyres. 5-6mm of tread from memory. Yours for $120.
  21. 11/100k for commuting and I think that's quite good. In the 7s on a trip
  22. Bumpers are supposed to be body coloured and the drooping valance is because it's caught a kerb or car park stop thing and broken the clips. Trust me on the last bit! Some internal shots would be good.
  23. He's certainly keeping the rims safe.

    V8 e30

I'd have it without the M badge, a 318i badge on the back and on bottlecaps.
