Job done. finished.jpg (sorry about the low light phone pic) Good work man. Yeah it's like that but what fun is a perfect car? Boring! So due to the discovery tonight I just went OCD and ordered some parts tonight, rear subframe rebuild kit basically, including reinforcement plates, exciting. BMRBOI 8 Report post Posted January 31, 2014 What's the differance between the 325i and 328i subframes? I was under the impression it was just the brakes.. Just done the reinforcement plates last month. Have pics etc if you need guidance. Good work man. Yeah it's like that but what fun is a perfect car? Boring! _ethrty-Andy_ 2136 Report post Posted January 31, 2014 Andy, just read through your latest updates on the V12 E34..... all i have to say is that i love your car! Really makes me want to buy an E34 touring, but its hard to settle for a boring grey/green one when yours is such a delish colour. Cheers Mate i need to do another update very soon. Engine is all back together now, while it was all apart i noticed one of the throttle bodys on on side (drivers side for the passengers side bank) isnt opening and closing as freely as it should. idle has always been a little rougher than it should be, and there is no idle valves on this motor, its all done through the throttle, so i would say it probably is my cause. once its all back running correctly again, cant wait to get out and about in it, havent really driven it for over half a year now lol
Mr2low 57 Report post Posted January 31, 2014 Went to vtnz to swap over the headlights as the adjusters had broken and fit a new number plate light and indicator bulbs that's all the wagon needed to be re registered

_ethrty-Andy_ 2136 Report post Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) took the cab for a very good run yesterday to Taupo and back in one day, about 750km made it there and decided to get gas at turangi on the way back, i always go to Z because of my fuel card and wasnt sure where the next one was, but still had another 20L to go in the tank so was pretty impressed at that, was driving swiftly as i had a lot of ground to cover in the day, and still got just over 8L/100km so pretty pleased with that. And the E30 problems story: On the way back, those that do the route will know the very rough train tracks you have to cross followed by a steep left hand corner/climb. went over those and not even quickly as the car is lowered, and dont want the lip falling off (again). But even so, started missfiring on the steep hill straight after that. f**k. pulled over as soon as i could, had a look, and some how 3 of the leads (2, 4 and 5) had popped off a bit at the spark plug end! One have them may have been a bit loose already as it has done that once before, but then came right and i didnt even do anything. Back on the road all the way home. edit: if your interested, i had this co-driver with me for the way back. (yes i mowed the lawns today after this photo lol) Edited February 6, 2014 by _Ethrty-Andy_

mjh 26 Report post Posted February 7, 2014 (edited) I haven't actually done anything yet but I have ordered a few parts from Turner Motorsport in the US. The car is a F10 M5 - I've ordered; Axle back straight pipes - Turner Motorsport version H & R lowering springs - 1 inch at front - 0.7 inches at rear Spacers for front (12.5mm) and back (10mm) Full LED interior light package Black side grills Black front grills Genuine car cover for the M3 CSL These should be a good start to making the M5 a bit cooler!! Finally finished installing all of the above. Some quick comments;1/. The exhaust is epic. Makes the M5 sound great. Very loud at start up, but on the open road it's fine when cruising. 2/. LED interior lights - very easy install and totally changes the car. A must I think for just over $100 a very cheap upgrade. The M5 has 19 interior lights to replace when doing this, however it comes as a kit so very easy. 3/. The black grill and side gills make the car look a lot better. 4/. The H&R springs give the car a great stance with the spacers. Very pleased I did this! All in all very happy with everything. Now I just need to decide if I want to paint the wheels satin black or will this be overkill....... So many first world decisions!
