nath 174 Report post Posted June 1 In an accidental/ brain fart moment today, I connected the jumper leads to e30 backwards and fried the ABS relay. Repaired the relay, jump started and drove back to the city to put her back in storage with the red car.
mmario 64 Report post Posted June 4 (edited) Couple of jobs recently, rear brakes on the E39 and Mickey on the 130i. Brake job went smoothly I find brake jobs very satisfying. Mickey did not go so well I stupidly stripped the Aluminium threads, was furious with myself...had to get my mechanic to save me with some Helicoil work I was very embarrased Lesson well learnt though, be f****ing gentle and precise with Alu threads, make sure stuff is seated properly Yep my OFHG needs doing as you can see Edited June 4 by mmario

With a load of other fixings and fastenings to put the rear MTech 1 bumper on. Got the front bumper and associated parts back today, just going through to work out what is missing or needs replacing on there as well. Surprisingly these little labels are different on the front and rear (very UN-German) and one is NLA so I got two of the other. Whilst not 100% ideal this is closer than not having the labels. There are people around on the net that do reproductions of the most obscure stuff, and you could probably get them cheaper through there, but I am lucky enough to get a good discount.
Olaf 3414 Report post Posted June 11 (edited) Yesterday I took my F25 X3 3.0D Msport for a WoF - it flew through. Interestingly they said 5mm on all the tyres. I measured less than that on the rears two months ago. Go figure. Today I gave my e46 Touring a quick bath - it was filthy, hadn't washed it for months. I think it really needs (deserves) a good clay bar, polish, wax. I won't have time for that until September. 😐 At least it's sparkling with Auto Glym Shampoo. Oh, and I thought my wheels were looking nearly black - Auto Glym Clean Wheels and my Auto Glym Wheel Brush took care of that. The kerbing? That's another sad tale. E30 325i Rag-Top 3030 Report post Posted 11 hours ago Got my bonnet back from being painted and swapped it back onto the ‘vert, and put all the bits back on it including new insulation panels. M-Tech 1 front bumper is about 90% complete, just waiting on a couple more fixings to come from Germany. And I got some shiny new badges for the boot, rather than try to replace the double sided sticky on the old ones (both in stock in NZ as well 🤣)

Who did the paint work for you, I’ve also got a cosmosblau bonnet and boot lid that needs painting? Also What did you use for the under bonnet sound deadening? very jealous of the mtech1 bumpers, make the car look so much better

Note the "Staff" designation on the labels, I doubt he paid retail. But I would like to know exactly what he did pay!

He also had the full front Tech 1 bumper assembly tucked away that I grabbed off him. The sound deadening is the BMW part, the 3 pieces come as a kit. Still available to order. I have great expectations of the bumpers, have turned it into a major project! Will be too scared to drive it once they are on.
