I can't see the sense here... Yes very nice looking car and well restored but would someone buy at this price?

Doubtful. Maybe 15k? Sure does look perfect though, as if it just rolled out of the factory.

Absolutely mint examples [fully restored] in the UK are fetching that sort of price and more.

M3s, maybe, but a M-tech (albeit from the factory) kitted 325i?
Which - let's be honest - is what this is.

Yep, clearly trying to recoup the costs of the resto.

Looks great. Not going to get the asking price but would easily fetch 20-25k if they had of advertised in that price range off the bat.

If I pumped that kind of money into something like this id be hanging onto it. Obviously the owner needs to sell.

Why does everyone compare every overpriced BMW with an E39 M5!?

They're either:

  1. Overpriced, too
  2. Exceptional VFM

E39 M5 is the last benchmark to reference. There isn't a new equivalent. :P

Couple of very nice E30s there that I would love to add to my collection, pricing is getting up there, I can understand it with the restored grey one - look at all those new parts under the bonnet - shiny new washer bottle, coolant expansion tank, under bonnet insulation, etc. I would think it will still stuggle to get that asking price but I could see it getting close, the black one is probably a little furher from it's asking price unless it looks a lot better in the flesh than in the photos.

E30s are cool cars, but damn... Would be better off investing in 80s BMWs than Auckland housing!

I wonder if 130/135/335's etc pricing will do the same in 30 years.

1M probably would but the rest i highly doubt it. They don't possess the qualities a M-tech E30 has.

1M is already appreciating something crazy, will easily exceed even E30 M3's due to limited numbers.

1M are not as solid as e30s. Just my humble opinion. I like the 1M don't get me wrong. How easy will it be to service in 25 years time?

Wow, they're both stunning and the silver one looks close to concours quality.

But they can't plausibly be worth 30k+ each.

Definitely not. Very different cars, E30 era models were built at a time when simplicity and quality were king - the epitome of BMWs character. The newer era cars are built much cheaper, far less style aesthetically, and have a lot more complication alone, both not good for the longevity.

1990 Motorsport (Mtech 2) 325i 'vert (automatic box) for sale in the UK. Significantly less mileage than either the silver or black ones linked in this thread, and at current exchange rates, at least 10% cheaper.
