Is This Where The E30 Market Is Now..?

Recommended Posts

I’ve never seen wood grain trim on a Nz new e30.

The 1st question is great 😂

It previously had a P plate "FBI M3" 😂

Suspect it was the same owner who rattle canned the control arms and sump red.

Cheap tyres, scabby-looking rims, no rim centres...

Yup, totally, much better presented examples of the M325i have sold for around that number. This is well short of being a $40k car, especially in this current market.

3 owners and 120km, but with some curious style choices.

It's back. This time at $29k.

But for the same money I'd definitely be buying this: https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/4152972514

I wonder what the reserve is - I definately bought my Mega km one at the market peak damnit.

Oh well, not selling so does not really matter.

Not gonna lie, looks like a pretty cool build to me, quite clean too. $20k is what some are asking for automatic sedans nowadays, would rather this any day of the week.

Am I the only one who thinks these people are dreaming when they turbo their E30, expecting M325i money. I'd be surprised if it would fetch more than $20k.

That exhaust hanging out the back like that is killing my OCD.

I don't see a $40k car, but I do admire the work that has gone into it. Of course, it's easier to accept (say) $30k when you start at 40, than it is to increase your asking price.
And yes - the exhaust is not giving me good feelings!

Whilst you’ve done a lot to yours since you bought it I still think yours had better bones to start with than this one.

The market will surpass what you view as a peak.  Just strap in and enjoy it for the number of year's it'll take until we've made it through recession, the economy will eventually recover, meanwhile e30's (and M325i in particular) will be older, scarcer, and more desirable... and more spare cash in buyer's pockets will be reflected in higher prices.  We've seen it all before, 80's, 90's, '08.... the e30 is a classic car like any other.

There’s an E30 gone on TardMe for $1 reserve, so this should give an indication of how strong the market is at the moment.

Ok, it’s a fairly low spec, 316i 4dr Auto, but it looks fairly tidy and clean. So it will give a decent indication of the entry level pricing into a decent E30.

NZ new, very tidy-looking interior other than cracked dash, low spec (but that's not necessarily a bad thing).

Is it the lighting in the photo, or has the passenger side front wing been replaced or repainted? Could easily be shadow.

Must have been a sewing enthusiast to not have a radio fitted for 33 years!

fronts definitely a diffferent colour, maybe kashmir beige instead of Luxor?

Just saw this out on the road the other day/week.

Times have changed.  More than one person talking about the worst spec E30 there is.

@Driftit I know where you’re coming from, however, it is still an E30 which is still cooler than 95% of the cars out there today.

Let’s face it, it’s pretty much pointless having any car with more than 90hp these days, between traffic and reduced speed limits you can’t enjoy any more power than that. Well in Akl anyways.

I wouldn't count on the stereo blank being original, even the most basic 316i manuals had the Bavaria C in NZ. ...Blacked out grilles and possibly retrofitted tacho. 15-20 years ownership was common for the 316 for some reason vs. 325 etc.

love it either way

Anyone seen this? Pretty cheap considering the probable amount spent on the build. May not agree with all of the choices made with the build but still quite impressive.

Other than the entire interior, it’s wicked

There was a guy here a long time ago that made an e30-e46 hybrid... Can't recall his name - Maybe Tony?

Car was seriously cool - e46 running gear, suspension, wider track, dash etc in an e30 coupe.

a really long time member, i havent been on bimmersport for about 14 years but my account still works. So I have an e30 which i parked in a garage about 14 years ago, nothing special coupe manual 320i. Thinking about doing a restoration on it. new paint etc. Assuming sum of parts is more then it is worth, but so i dont go crazy on it, what would a restored to a mid level e30 320i coupe manual sell for?
