there is an exception to that story, Dave. Professional leather restoration by practicioners like European Leather Care in Wellington. Important thing is that after restoration, leather is maintained. ... a BMW rebadged as something it is not! ... Saw an obvious BMW 320i rebadged as a M3 ... I just could not stop smiling at the stupidity ... One of the reasons I am still hesitant to put M badges on my car despite it having lots of M-sport equipment.

My M3 was nicer than that one, and less KM, a service history, and i had trouble selling it for $12k a couple of years ago. Prices on good E36 M3s seem to be on the rise, but thats getting damn close to E46 M3 money.

320d has a new battery. Forgot to mention that. I think. Today... And all to fit the shiny bit in the lower right of the picture.

From memory theres two cats paired on the exhaust manifolds, both sides so 4 in total, and then a small pair of resonators, I wouldn't recommend touching any of those. On the S8 the mid section has a X / Kiss style balancing pipe - this would quieten the note down significantly. Some say it might increase power, but inside it just has a small hole, so theres no really much crossing over 'scavenging effect' The way the headers are paired do the bulk of that. I'd have that small cross over section deleted, and you'll find you'll get a much more glorious V10 sound. Stock mufflers would be good IMO, deactivating the vacuum flaps would give some more rumble in the low rpm range.

Not much of an update - but got it back from the panelbeaters yesterday. It's now completely rust free. (well, almost... read below)

Lovely car, GLWS! Perhaps you should say test "rides" but I'm pretty certain I wouldn't by a car without driving it myself, you may need to reconsider that condition?

First drive in almost a year
