3 pointsNot many of these around, I grant you, the last one I saw was a bit above my price range listed at $27K on TM. Anyway, I'm about to turn 40 so want a more fitting car for my mid-life crisis than my beloved 540i. Absolutely love the E31 shape but not really interested in the V12s; I've driven a couple and wasn't very impressed but I have a supercharger kit lying around that would go neatly into the V8. Would prefer the late model (95+) 840 with the 4.4L V8 instead of the 4L so the sc kit would be a straight bolt on without requiring any modification. Don't care about colour but would like grey/cream leather interior if possible (though not essential) and would prefer motorsport kit. Almost any condition considered as my budget will be whatever I can get for the 540i. Would like to keep the supercharger kit so I can put it in the 840i but would consider selling it for the right offer if it means I can get a mint 840.

2 pointsI thought you'd said you had an offer for 27k? At only $2000 over 6 months loss, I'd take the the 27 slides and move on personally and I'd class the tyres and lights just maintenance, i.e 2k on maintenance on a M car isn't that greater deal If it had been a new car, you'd have lost far more than that!

1 pointHi all. I am trying to change the navi in my 2011 M3 E90 ( UK import ) to NZ and have received maps & code from [email protected] as suggested by leebske. I have transferred all maps to usb stick ( formatted to FAT32) and then connected to the car via the glove box fitting. Nothing happens, even with the engine running. I even tried burning all to a DVD. Do I need to uninstall the Europe map? Again, nothing. Any suggestions please. cheers.Rob

1 pointIf you're looking at after market, Koni or Bilstien will see you right. I prefer Koni as a personal preference, but the choice is entirely up to you and your budget. Springs also very important, getting a nice progressive set of matched front and rear spring with a tuned front and rear rate is key to these vehicles geometery working for you instead of against you. Lots of people buy cheap and while they get what they were after the longevity isnt there in the shocks. Bushes are another area to look at, Personally I think 99% of people would be more than happy with new OEM bushes. People think they want to go for hard materials however for a road car that sort of stuff belongs on the track and not a road car. Just going new will make it feel brand new Sway bars are a good upgrade but only after you get your springs and shocks sorted. They can really help level out body roll. I have adjustible ones which I needed to tune in the minor weight differences for my engine conversion. I still wouldnt mind making my rears a tad software to help with rear lateral grip. Anyways, lots of opinions on the subject. There are some great kits the likes of UUC or bimmerworld etc do. Skys the limit.

1 pointM3 evo 236kw? maybe if it was boosted .. then that would be enough performance to run wanky-angel eyes? haha

1 pointI think my wife would throw me in the loony bin if I spent 50k on a 15-20k car.

1 pointThat's based on the last few fills, mixed driving with a trip up to Palmerston North and back a few weeks ago. OBC is currently reading 13.2 so it's not too inaccurate. On a long trip I will see under 10 l/100km if just cruise along with traffic. I don't generally drive slowly. Compared to my LR Discovery which averaged 20 L/100km towing the boat over summer (plus the fuel the boat gulps), the M sips fuel like a Prius.

1 point13.2L/100km in the 540... And I'm of the opposite gender O.o Definitely not driving it hard enough haha... Sent from my KM-UQM11A using Tapatalk

1 pointI say nay But I'm a sucker for originality. HID's are a pretty cool upgrade, but I think angel-eyes are tacky.

1 pointPaid a man in Auckland some money for his E36 M3. Now to wait for the truck to bring it down to me.

1 pointFirst roadtrip in the E60 last week. WOW. This thing transforms into a beast when you hit the open roads. More power than ANYTHING on the roads (pretty much), and the grip levels are out of this world. 100kph - 200kph is literally insane. Yet to do any actual top speed runs, but can cruise along with no dramas, no stress comfortably at 160+ on the way to the coromandel. This is the first car I've ever owned which goes faster than my driving allows it to. Overtaking cars is hilarious. Press the M button, drop it into 3rd gear, and hold on! Fuel economy so far for 70L tank: ($160 to fill). 1st tank: 350km 2nd tank: 370km 3rd tank: 380km 4th tank: 360km Currently at 20.4 L / 100km Disgusting really. The E39 M5 was literally 25% better, and that thing was thirsty too. It feels like, if I drive it a bit less aggressively, or am on open roads the whole time, I could easily get 420km. Will try for this sometime soon.

1 pointOverpriced, perhaps. Although, as many people have mentioned, it is quite a specific target audience market. So maybe it's not overpriced and the right buyer just hasn't shown him/herself yet. I have had 3-4 offers from trademe for people offering $25k - $26k. So have the option to fall back to this. However I am not really in a crazy rush to sell it, and as have said earlier, would rather sell to an actual enthusiast or bimmersport member. I know when I bought the car 6 months ago for $27,000, that there were 3 or 4 people fighting over it (after being on trademe for only ONE day), and if I didn't take the day off work to go check the car, have it inspected, and buy it, it would have gone elsewhere. Since then I have put a full set of new tyres on the car ($1600), as well as replacing the 'angel-eyes' with white lighting instead of yellow, as well as a Jerry Clayton BMW service ($600ish). All I am looking to do is break even. Someone come and take the car away for $29,000...

1 pointHe means the affordable plates you can buy through the group buy (German Plates). Oh and the Bimmersport Surrounds were a limited run I think.

1 pointAnd how much did that cost you Mike? Whichever V8 I'm in that's about $40 worth!
-
1 pointAlso I take much offence with this; although my E34 has no airbags, anyone who's ever crashed one will know how well they hold up in an accident.. VERY structurally sound. And they are in no way ugly!!!
